unless its already on the edge of blowing, it should take a 100 shot no problem granted the fuel system is up to par.

as long as you have a fuel pressure safety switch and retard the timing I think you'll be alright. Don't use it everyday all day, but it'll be fine as long as the motor is mechanically sound. We pull engines with 200k out of the junkyard and hit them with 200+ shots and they last a season sometimes, if not there's the 90 day warranty program, so I'm sure a 100 shot on a good engine with functioning ignition would work.

I keep reading that you want to retard the timeing 2 degrees for every 50 shot of the juice ..so in your case ... retard it 4 degrees
Re: Is it really goin to blow
So stock timing is bad??
And it is a bad idea?

I'm not a nitrous guy, but from what I've read it only kills engines if:
1. You go lean and get detonation.
2. You go really crazy on HP.
100 extra ponies on even an older SBC is hardly insane IMO. Like others have said, If the engine is still in pretty good shape it should take it.

Nitrous is not a bad idea, only when rigged and not run properly, period.
I had a stock 350 TPI with dual cats and a cat-back and ran a 150 shot all day, the car only had 66,xxx miles and I made sure that everything like fuel pump and injectors etc. etc. were in good running condition.

its normaly for people to say that because of the bs they see on movies or there buddy ghetto rigging a nitrous system. your motor is not going to blow unless you run lean so knock the timing and only run high octane. if you are really worried about it run race gas when you race it to help prevent dention when you spray.
if you dont trust the motor get a wide band 02 sensor and a good A/F ratio gauge and bump up your fuel pressure a tad so when you spray it wont drop the pressure and lean out.
