Supercharger or NOS

First i want to say ive searched the fourms about superchargers(I love the sound). But I got a new crate 350 im getting built with my tax refund and xmas bonus, which should be around 6-6.5 grand. Its going to be carbed and i dont want to bore. Would anyone have a guess to how much it would cost to be built 350 with CR for supercharger, or should i just throw NOS on it, im looking for about 450hp to the wheels. I just dont want to sound like a dumba** when i call the motor shop. I was wondering if anyone had a good idea on what rotating assemblie / and top end kit would be good with a supercharger. anything would help i know theres alot of ? on superchagers, just dont know what to do. thank you
----------
I forgot to say i was thinking like a wiend 144 or 177 superchager, i think i read the 144 was better for the 350?

Re: Supercharger or NOS

For 450rwhp i would go with something like a cnc-motorsports assembled shortblock, its a 383 and is fully forged with -31cc srp blower pistons and eagle 4340 crank and rods, and can be had for 2750 shipped to your door http://www.cnc-motorsports.com/produ...33&CtgID=22977
. I would then go with some AFR 195'sfor the heads.. You could then go with the weiand 177, or something like a Procharger P1SC maybe even a P600B could get you 450rwhp, and it will still be streetable. There's an article around here where they did a 500hp weiand build that got something like a rediculous 22mpg or something. Hope that helps

Do you want to spend a lot of money or do you want to keep a budget? If you're looking the best bang for your buck, nitrous > supercharger.

for the short term yes, but the turbo system will pay for itself over time, plus you have the power on tap at all times.....trust me...going from spray 300hp shots down the strip..nitrous gets expensive. You can bet than on a day of racing anywhere from 6-10 runs usually there's about 35-40 lbs of nitrous...at $3 a lb thats 105-120 a day. It adds up quick

Re: Supercharger or NOS

I wanted to keep it around 4500 if i could for parts superchager i think is around 1900, rotating assemblie around 900, then heads around 2000.
Or if I could get 450 rwhp with no power adder i might do that, really wanted to stay away from nos.
