what kb pistons? Hopefully not hypereutectic- you need forged. As for computer side, I like fast xfi

What turbos and how much boost are you running on that 10:1 CR engine? That thing should rip. There are lots of turbo setups posted on here.

10:1 and boost should make for a good launch.

Re: 91 camaro 383 tpi twin turbo

My Datsun runs 10.5:1 with a turbo granted it's a T3 and I only spool 4lbs on the street but it has made more than one guy look really surprised when a purple Z outran them. Be very careful about boost when your CR is up that high, detonation is only a hair away even with almost no boost, mine has AFR issues on 93 oct when I go above 6lbs so I try to stay well below that on the street. High comp low boost motors make alot of power and are a very viable option just be very careful.

They guys on the Mid-Atlantic board meet up ocassionally. I just dont know when.

Im building a 383 also. I was gonna build a LS1-style motor but the parts are SUPER expensive. Plus for some reason, I couldnt sell a 350 bare block (splayed billet 4-bolt caps, bored .025 over, decked, no fill yet). So, Im staying with the 383 and Im gonna turbo it. I just ordered my Eagle crank yesterday actually .

PM me. I would like to have more 3rd gen meets. Im in PG County.

Re: 91 camaro 383 tpi twin turbo

10:1comp and boost generally are not a good mix, you max out your 91octane at 7psi with an intercooler. My suggestion would be drop the compression down to somewhere between 8.8:1 and 9.25:1.

Re: 91 camaro 383 tpi twin turbo

its too cold for that now i geuss iam goin to put my car in the shop all winter so i can get caught up on the build (gas hog) plus wear and tear. so has any one done this before and what size injectors?what kinda computer/chip? should i go mass air or speed density. and how much boost should i run?i no the tpi intake wont feed past 5500 fully done it will if its shoved. but the only way iam goin to get the hp i want from that good looking intake is turbo or super or pro.

funny, im at UMCP, my car is about 15 mins up route 1 at my uncles shop dropping the transmission, its not xactly a thirdgen... but a l98, yes, (85 vette, but there is a lot of info to compliment the vette forum, and less old ppl here, no offense to them...). I was gonna do a turbo setup but my 700r4 blew, so thats absorbing my funds, gonna have a killer tranny tho =]. then boost that thing.

btw... Ocean city is only good for beach week house parties, not the water, ish is green.

Well... The pic is so small that the black one could be mistaken for BLUE.

There was a blue RS that ran high 11's at Capitol this past weekend. I thought maybe you were him.

Re: 91 camaro 383 tpi twin turbo

9:1 compression will still make a snappy motor. Mine's a 9:1 383. The engine is very snappy. You're probably going to have to run around 8psi to get 450hp with the tpi. At 8psi with a turbo, the air is going to get pretty warm, even with an intercooler. You're gonna have to retard the timing a good bit and lose power as a result to keep your engine safe. If you drop your compression down to 9 or even 8.5 you can pull less timing and you will make more power. Get it?

I had a 7.5:1 305 (heads were way too big) that was still a snappy motor, just didnt have much low end tq. Compression has little to do with it. If you want good engine response, its more in the tune and matched engine parts.

Oh I missed that post where you built a completely different motor....does it have that vroom vroom you wanted? You didnt tune it on the engine dyno?

11.9? Nice, too bad its not 10's though so you can beat those civics.

Whoa, the "go sleep with your mother" was just too much, lmao. If I ever met anyone online that was ever involved in inbreeding....it might be the guy that dropped out of school after first grade. But he does have two nice camaro's and a wife that drives one.......or is that sister??? How close do you live to west virginia?

Lol, wow. You can only take immaturity to a limit buddy. I was complementing how you described it, as i would have done the same.. I would recommend to keep the childish mother comments to a down, i doubt moderators will like that.

And the S-10, call it slow all you want.. It will keep up to your maro anyday.

Cool. No one's bashing your car. It takes a smart fella to build a chevy small block. I don't know many guys that could do it. Screw those part time mechanics.

An s10 with a weak 350 will run 11's. Hillbilly.

Re: 91 camaro 383 tpi twin turbo

i built my brother's 454 pretty much stock it's an 88 1500 chevy.it's okay but heavy.and my old boss (water man) a 355 dart heads s10 blazer ran 9.90's with a 200 shot.it lasted a whole 4 month's.button happy ruined the heads when she went.and freinds elcamino 355 never tracked but quik he traded it in on a 95 6 banger camaro lol.and now iam doing a 4.3 to 350 swap for a buddy at work.4.3 threw a rod.iam only 19 and have been doing swaps since i was 8 atleast that all started with riding mowers and electric power wheels and a big battery.i got a bay quad lt50 4 wheeler blew up i put a ds 80 dirt bike motor on it 50mph beats my girls suzuki 400 eiger to 5th gear.i could keep on but there's too much.
