Finally

Hello to everyone and Happy Holidays!!

I know that I dont post as often as before but just wanted to share this;

I just saved a bunch of money by swtching to....

Sorry, couldnt resist

Now seriously I finally got the GTA up and running again. You all know that I first wanted to go quad turbo and I did, but the kit left no space for rutine checks like spark plugs and plug wires. I ended up trying to sell it but I end up keeping it, it's probbably going into a 1st gen Camaro for my wife.

About the GTA here are the stats;

418 wheel horsepower and 565 pounds of torque also on the wheels @15 of boost. Completely stock bottom end except for a Summit oil pump and with over 116,000 miles on the clock!!!

The car has been on a rigorous diet since I parked it about two years ago. It now sports complete fiberglass front end with custom hood, chopped front, Hawk's notchback, etc.. Rough guess race weight estimate is 3,100 pounds.

The car is very fast and I am finally happy, and with the current setup seems that is going to last long before it breaks apart the stock engine, hoping is soon because I have a new 4 bolt 360ci for it.

Well here are the pics, enjoy

Re: Finally

most awesome! I love the notchback!! what rpms do you turn in that motor? do you really think that bottom end will hold that power for long??

I'm gonna do a cam swap this winter and i'm worried that some more revs and power will blow my 158K mile shortblock...but its well mainted haha

awesome work. i always wanted a turbo kit from you guys but never had the motor or money to get it at the time. Its a shame

Is weird that you havent received the headers by now. I will call the company that took your package and ask them for your tracking number.

No hijacking, thank's for letting me know. I will let you know as soon as I have an answer.

Hello Dan,

Package was sent via USPS,
tracking number 0307 1790 0003 9723 3299

I called the company on Friday, the one I choose for the pick up and to my surprise they never send the package since apparently "they had lost" the documents that I gave to the guy who picked up the box containing the headers, but, they where about to call me when I called them... Yeah sure, who knows when they where going to call me.
Well anyways, I told them that I was going to send the package myself and they returned the package to me that same day and refund me the money also.
Please let me know when you get it.

Re: Finally

The hood was custom made by this guy, the work on the notchback was done by him also, so was the painting and the fiberglass side skirts.

Re: Finally

Answering to some questions before,

The turbo is a Turbonetics T-76 S.96 trim
The engine is seeing no more than 5500 rpms.
How long does the engine is going to last? I really dont know. It dosent seem that is going to die by too much power, but rather by "natural causes". The engine currently has no more than 4 psi of oil pressure at idle and maybe 35 psi at high rpms since it is a very seasoned engine and the bearings apparently have too much clearance by now. I do have a new block with all forged internals, H-beam rods and all the goodies, I'm just waiting for that old fart to blow up or seize until I get some parts missing and TIME needed to complete the new engine, so, I can't make the swap right now.

Re: Finally

WOW car turned out AWESOME. I just have a few questions about the front end. Who made it and how do you have it attached to the body? Thought about doing it to my car since its pretty much just a track car.

The front end was made by Hairy Glass www.hairyglass.com some hardware was to be done to attach it. The front end is made for drag racing (4"longer), so you should tell them that is going to made for a street car so they can have it done with the supports moved to the front so that when you cut the excess they wont be lost. The stock hood can't be used unless you modify the new fiberglass front end kit.
