turbo with maf

Hi all,

i have seen conflicting answers, so i was wondering if someone could tell me if the maf goes before or after the turbo? I saw a youtube video of it being installed and run in its normal spot (just before intake) with good results, and i saw a big turbo install writeup on here that says put the maf on the turbo inlet. any ideas?

Re: turbo with maf

On our cars, install it between the turbo and throttle body.

Re: turbo with maf

FWIW, Grand nationals have the MAF before the inlet of the turbo, after the filter of coarse. They run fast so it must be ok.

Re: turbo with maf

it depends on the maf sensor, a plastic stock thirdgen maf should not be used on the presure side of the turbo system (i.e blow threw)

they should be used on the suction side i.e turbo inlet

now if u run an ls1 or lt1 maf with a translator u can run it in either location
