need power!!!

hi all. im new here, found this site looking for parts. im not sure if im in the right section for this but here it goes. i am 16 years old and have had m 1983 h.o. camaro sence i was 11. so far i have put cam, intake, carb.,1.6 roller rockers, headers, dual exhaust, hurst shifter in it. it is a BW 5-speed and the 305. i know most would say which to 350. not saying there is anything wrong with that, i just love the look on the guys/gals face when u stomp him in a 305. so does anyone have any clues or hints on more bang for the buck??? i can pull heads and do all that but i would realy like to leave the motor in it. thank you

Re: need power!!!

really, just spray it and when it goes, put a bigger motor in it. you have a 305 and wanna work with it, thats cool do it, heck i would if i had one already in the car. consider this:

a 305 looks IDENTICAL to a 334/350/355/377/383/396/400/406/409/427/454 small block chevy, so you can always SAY you beat um with a 305, even if you dont. also, if you told me you beat me with a 305, id think cool, but man u should have build a bigger bore motor, that was dumb to build a small bore 305 when a 350 core is $150. Also, being different isnt always good:

Re: need power!!!

Port and Polish, 3 angle valve job, new valves, 1.6 rollors, new springs, pushrods, ect

You could get some vortech heads, and get them milled to keep your compression, and get the rest done, and put down some decent numbers

But if you got some 350's laying around, everything will bolt up from the 305. cept knock sensor, and such.
