ebay supercharger

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AIT&viewitem=

i need help deciding what I need to buy to run this setup on my 89 iroc z. i know i need the supercharger and the guy says it needs a rebuild. The ebay power adders are always questionable, but this one sounds like a good deal.... which is the first hint that its a sour deal.

I dont know much about power adders and i dont want to spend too much money so I want to buy a cheap setup and I know people that can install it.

Do i need an intercooler? I read on superchargersonline.com that you only need it if you run more than 8 psi.

Re: ebay supercharger

intercooler is always a good idea... the cooler the charge the better off you are. if you aren't running an intercooler you will see knock much sooner and your timing will be effected. intercoolers aren't much money anyhow, and if you decide to kick it up a few psi in the future you won't have to redesign the system to incorporate one.

if the kit doesn't come with it, you will probably need to look into an injector upgrade and possibly fuel pump upgrade. if you have original injectors you will definitely need to replace them (talk to jon at fuelinjectorconnection.com) probably with 34 or 36lb for 8psi if you want to keep them running at a reasonable duty cycle.

buying it is your call, but it appears to be a decent deal. even if you end up not wanting it, you can clean it up, rebuild it and sell it off at a profit (depends on how high the bidding goes).

Re: ebay supercharger

It looks pretty. Is that for real........the text about changing the oil every 2K miles? And needing a rebuild at 8K miles? Seems a little strange. Turbo bearings last for over a 100K miles easily and you just change oil at regular intervals. A set of bearings is under $20.

Re: ebay supercharger

Those paxtons run great. It does on my car. Im the guy selling that blower. And i changed the oil at early intervals because everything i read sugest that i should. The internal setup for them creats a high level of heat. Thats why I intercooled it. The only reason im saying to "freshen" it up is because the blower is getting a little bit louded then normal. There are kits all over the internet to rebuild them and have them professionaly rebuilt. Its a great blower for little money. Everyone knows ati prochargers are the best on the market, and there price reflects that. If anyone has any questions feel free to message me on here or ebay. Leave your # if you have a lot of questions.

Re: ebay supercharger

How hard is it to install? I dont have a ton of money to spend. I plan on putting gears and slicks on, possibly a new cam. I only have 2k MAX. so this kit would end up being close to 900 ish from the way it seems to me aside from bidding going through the roof.

Re: ebay supercharger

Its actualy really easy to install if you have some kind of wrench knowledge. The instalation guide walks you through step by step. And i did remove it from my car today so everything is labled exactly where it needs to go. That should help speed things up. Anyother questions just message back.
