Tips and other usefull info for build?

I am planning on dropping this into my camaro http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/te...est/index.html .
I was wondering what all I am going to need to do to my car. Current plans include SFC's, 6 point cage, upgraded rear axle, upgraded T56, All body seams fully welded, and an upgraded cooling system.
What else am I going to need to do, and what do you guys recommend that may not be necessary but a good idea?
This car is going to be a street/strip, and I am planning on having two different axle setups, that I can swap out. One for street use for comfortable cruising, and the other one full race prepped.

Re: Tips and other usefull info for build?

you should be able to get away with one rear end set up....
that combo will make plenty of power, and torque, youd probably only need a 3.42 or 3.73, and with a t56 you'll be cruising at a real comfortable rpm at 65 or so.
get a 12 bolt, 9" or dana 60 with those gears and a nice locker or true trac or soemthing and i think you'll be happy!
good luck

Thanks. Do you have any other recommendations, or do I have it pretty much covered with what I am planning on?

Re: Tips and other usefull info for build?

make sure youve got an adequate fuel system, this can often be overlooked at the beginning of a build.
you'll quite a bit of fuel supply, an aeromotive a1000, or twin walbros or soemthing.
and a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator.
id reccommend some sort of wide band o2 sensor also, just to keep your air/fuel ratio in check.

that motor/blower combo will be stout! its gonna be a serious handful on the street especially with the 6 speed! good luck with it!

Cool. I'm completely new to blowers, so just trying to get everything in line before I start this project. It won't see alot of street time. Primarily cruise nights and the such. One reason I'm looking at the blower is if i do decide to take it out for a night it won't be to crazy at low RPM's, just have to make sure I keep my foot out of the pedal lol. But I will also have plenty of power to take it to the track.

It also looks like I will have to have the cam ground. Nobody makes one with those specs anymore.

So a Ford 9" with a 3:50 gear would be good? Dyno programs say that's a little weak unless one has really short tires or nitrous...?

Re: Tips and other usefull info for build?

That's really not a bad gear for the street, the combo you're looking into will make plenty of torque to make up for it, to go with a numerically higher gear would multiply traction problems. You mentioned cruise nights and not racing, if you plan to do any racing then I'd consider something a bit steeper, but that's just me.

Re: Tips and other usefull info for build?

those fuel system parts are exactly what i have and am very happy with.
i purchased the entire aeromotive A1000 setup, comes with all the lines fittings, filters, pump, regulator, etc.
its pricey but saves a lot of hassle trying to get it right the first time. i think it goes for like 1250, but its worth the money.
that wideband looks plenty good enough. im using a innovate LM-1 thats cheaper than that one you listed.

youre going to make plenty of power to use a 3.50 gear, especially if youre going to run 26" tall tires, i personally wouldnt go any numerically higher unless you wanna be spinning the tires from a roll in 4th gear... im not kidding, 7xx hp is a rediculous amount to try and harness on the street.

i first drove my car witha turbo (approximately 520-540crank hp and 600+ftlbs with 2.73 gears and it would spin hard in second (th350 auto) and occasionally in drive at like 40mph.....

i think you'lll have a sick street cruiser with that combo tho.

Re: Tips and other usefull info for build?

Thanks alot guys. this car will definitely see track time. Pretty much going for dual purpose here. A car that can pull some wicked fast times, but still be streetable whenever I get the urge to jump in her.
