I've been looking for a few weeks now for a single turbo exhaust header or header kit and come up empty handed. it appears nobody sells them anymore.. not even bbs or ssautochrome. is there another supplier that anyone is aware of?

Thanks,

Jason

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
in my 88 gta. i'm only looking to run 8-10lbs of boost and i'm looking for something in a kit or that requires only a little bit of fabrication. I just purchased a welder but i havn't welded much in about 12 years so i don't want to do anything too complex for my first real project.

does your manifold come with the crossover and other header or is it only the passenger side bbs type?

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
i have this manifold, i was going to use to be modified .but i went with twin turbos .
this i think is the bbs copy everyone is talking about. here is a picture if you are intested , i will take $300.00 for intercooler and manifolds,or $200.00 for manifold only. , i only held
it up to it for a quick fit. fo you have one serpentine belt or serpentine and v-belt?
there was another gentleman who used this kit i think he is NOBOOSTNOGO he has a thread JUST ANOTHER BLOW THRUMP-T 70 BUILD. i think he only had to
add a turbo spacer to cover valve covers. I dont know what belt sytem he is running or if he i running air conditioning. let me know thanks. Ben

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
hmm... did he have tall valve covers? i have tall valve covers to clear my roller rockers so i'm wondering if it will fit at all. I have a full serpentine setup with ac deleted.

what are the specs on the intercooler?

no they will not fit tall valve covers, i bought a set of these but they had tons of titting issues, if you look at #8 runner, a spark plug wire will not clear the runner even with a short plug.

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
damn. guess its looking like i'm going to have to fab something. where did you score your flanges (turbo, header, wastegate) and parts? also, is there a complete idiots guide to building your own manifold? i'm curious what thickness and type of pipe to use, waste gate configuration/pipe size, etc.

Depends on what ur goals and budget are I used 16ga mild steel and mild steel flanges t4 flange and 38 mm eg 1/2 header flange is ideal but hard to find I used 3/8 header flange I got all my stuff from www.columbiarivermandrelbending.com great company great prices and fast shipping I can vouch for them

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
I don't have a huge budget.. but i'd like to get into the forced induction world so I can get more bang for my buck so to speak. I scored an old holset h2c turbo that i've rebuilt (it ain't pretty, but the internals are clean and within spec) and i've got a stock l98 bottom end so i can't push too much boost yet. I had a buddy hook me up with shorty headers that i may invert and fab a Y pipe and turbo manifold in the air box/charcoal canister area. quick question.. do you recommend i take the time to tear my nose off and get an air to air intercooler installed or are those injection intercooling systems fairly effective?

basically i'm looking to learn and do R&D on this short block so when i finish my 4bolt main 383 build i'll have all the bugs worked out so i don't grenade the damn thing.

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
if you are talking about a meth/water kit yes those are effective and very nice. But it might be more affordable to get a decent sized intercooler.

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
If you just bought a welder, make your own turbo hot-side. I learned to weld making mine and it turned out great. It may be more time consuming, but the final product will be exactly how and where you want it. I posted some pics of my turbo manifolds in this thread: pics

Also, you will definitely want an intercooler and you don't have to tear your nose off to mount it. Mine easily fit in front of the radiator (30x12x3).

Did you get the 3/8" SBC head flanges from them? How much were they each?

Re: who sells single turbo manifolds anymore??
awesome thread and info.. thanks! where did you score your throttle body to intake pipe rubber adapter?

after reviewing your photos and some other builds on the forum I'm getting the hint that i'm going to have to buy the ac delete unit and move my charcoal canister and coolant reservoir.
