a bit of help plz

Hey guys I was just looking for a bit of advice. I have the 305 tbi lo3, and I wanted to buy 1 of those twin turbo kits from ebay to give my girl a little extra kick, nothing major maybe 4psi, and have that bragging factor of being the only guy with a twin turboed v8 at school. The car has about 130k miles, and I was wondering what id need to do to make this run reliably without risk of to much damage. My rents won't let me use any space at our house to do a full engine rebuild, so I can't really do that. I just don't want the girl to blow up or start leaking cuz of this endevour. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

You answered your own question, if you dont have anywhere to work on your car you wont be able to make it work. The ebay kits dont fit without alot of modifications, just spray some nitrous and call it done until you can find a place to work on your car.

I have places to work on it, its just I don't have enough room for a full engine rebuild. So I can do the work, I just can't pull the lo3 out.

And I can't go the nitrous route. Thanks to the oh so wonderful "fast & furious" movies, my parents think nitrous is this nasty crap that'll cause your floor pans to fall off and blow the engine and its insta go fast like in the movies. They're totally cool with turbos though, so long as I don't pull the engine out. That's they're one condition. Engine must stay in the car. Which is why I want to know how much modifications I need to do to make sure the engine doesn't blow up.

You can still make a lot of power w/o the turbo. With a turbo, an L03 would still probably be slower than a built 350.
get a 350. easy fast swap. do it overnight at a friends house. ur parents wont be able to tell. 305 and 350's look the same.

i have a turbo car and they are just as nasty as nitrous. this is just a scenario only, don't get offended pls. a z06 pulls up next to you at a redlight and wants to race, you reach down to the boost controller and crank the boost all the way (which has been at 4psi since day one) and the race is on...do you see where i'm going with this?

u kno ive never thought about that but i guess inna way that is somewhat true. but also how easy and cheap is it to up ur shot? just change the jets. boost may require a new turbo or two. so money will hold u back inna way also

Re: a bit of help plz

4 psi of boost is hardly any , in my opinion a turbo set up is better than nitrious because you can have multipule boost maps with lets say 5 , 10 15 20 psi of boost . my last car was a turbo car an i had two different boost maps for it a 18 lbs. one an a 23 lbs. one also i could set mine up for different boost levels in each gear . my complaint with nitrious is once the bottle is empty your boost is gone until you hook up another bottle .an if your like me an like to street race you don't want to run out of boost...

Re: a bit of help plz

4 lbs of boost isn't going to do much and if you do nitrous I wouldn't suggest more than 50 hp. Either way on a stock 305 with that many miles you're probably going to be digging your pistons out of the oil pan. I would try to go the 350 route or maybe a cam, intake and carb for the 305. Good luck with whatever you decide.
