Plastic Vic Jr style intake for gen 1 now available!

FYI, a plastic intake is now available from AFR for our engines. It's not exactly fuel injection ready but they do have bosses for injectors. At $600 it ought to have fuel rails and be injector ready though!

This is the first aftermarket intake that I've been excited about though. I just wish someone would make plastic runners and upper plenum for TPI!

Actually, in your case, you would only need a plastic elbow w/that manifold, as being your running the Megasquirt you can essentially run any throttle body that you want to that would bolt to it....

True but I like the TPI's look and long runners for my application. One thing I don't like about tpi is there is so much surface area to absorb underhood heat. Plastic would be a nice upgrade in this area.

I'd like to see it tested under boost. I have read Tony Mamo's responses to this intake and its been pressure tested to high pressure and show no signs of leaking or blowing up so thats a good sign

Seems like a great idea to beable to adjust plenums and runners on this intake but not sure if that would significantly help a EFI motor as much as it would a carb setup. Plus i'm not sure how you'd "plastic weld" injector bungs into that intake. Those spots onthe manifold look like nitrous nozzle tap locations and not for injectors.

I'm assuming the main advantage of this would be to cut down on heat transfer. However, I'm curious on what other advantages plastics intakes pose.

Well this design featured an adjustable section to change runner/plenum profiles, or atleast thats my understanding.... thats the main advantage so you can dial in the power curve for the combo.

For a carb motor thats more important because you can run a single plane intake on a stock cammed L98 EFI motor and it would run well, but that intake on a carbed L98 wouldnt run well at all.
