smog pump supercharger

has anyone else found an article online talking about turning 3 or 4 smog pumps into a supercharger? i read one last night that said by hooking up 3-4 smog pumps in a series that it would produce around 4-6lbs of boost. the author of the article said he had done this on a few cars but mainly on bikes. Just wondering what everyone on here would have to say about it?

Re: smog pump supercharger

probably would work decent on a 3hp briggs&stratton,
but nowhere near enough volume to use on any 3rd
gen engine-i don't think you could fit enough smog
pumps under the hood,no to mention the drive problems
Some vane type superchargers were used back in
the flathead ford era,but i havent seen any modern
vane type superchargers(not to be confuzed with
centrifugal superchargers)

some ford trucks had the inlet on the top just hook the hose to valve cover. need a good separator, oil in the smog pump leads to a quick death. vanes are made from composite material

Re: smog pump supercharger

Smog pumps.. WTF....you can also run a hose from the interior to your intake and get someone to blow into it as you accelerate...should be good for about 2PSI, until they pass out
