Procharger hitting wheel arch??

Hi,
Got the motor in, trans and crossmember all bolted up. Got all the serpentine and procharger brackest on. Trouble is, when I went to fit the procharger head unit, it wont fit as it touches the wheel arch?! Is this normal? Does the arch have to be modified?
Any help on this would be great

Re: Procharger hitting wheel arch??

You may have to loosen the screws around the edge of the compressor housing in order to rotate the volute outlet to a better position.

Ah yes, thanks, I did actually think that maybe done, but didnt do it, as I could find no information on actually doing this? So just loosen the screws and move it around? How much gap do I need to leave between the procharger, and the arch?

This might give you a idea, basically once you get the rubber elbow on you will know.

Re: Procharger hitting wheel arch??

I'm running a blow-thru setup so my outlet points almost straight across towards the intake. I have plenty of space on mine. I didnt realize how you TPI guys had to route your outlet piping, looks really tight.

Not to post hi-jack..... but i really have no idea how to fit an intake filter or what kind of piping to get a filter on my head unit with the brake m/c sitting 4 inches away?????

hmmm, looking at the picture Tony89GTA, and it looks like the outlet is rotated further round? Strange as my setup came straight of an 89 Camaro? I will adjust it and see what happens. Thanks for these replies, its what makes this forum so useful to me, especially as I dont live in the US

Re: Procharger hitting wheel arch??

Here is the pic's you wanted for the intercooler brackets, like yourself I had to make my own since I bought mine used and the original ones were in rough shape and not as strong as the ones I made.

Anyways both side ones are 4 1/4" long. I had to custom the back one cause the bracket was broken off the intercooler. Pretty easy to make, hammer and a vice with aluminum flat bar.

Do i seriously see PVC pipe being used as an intake tube on that red car? I'm almost to that point so i can drive my car though.

Yes, I think marked used PVC for a year or so. If i recall its good to 250psi so was deff. a quick , easy budget way to run it. I actually have all the pic's of the setup when he had it if you want them. email me and I'll send em over.

Re: Procharger hitting wheel arch??

LOL my old baby! PVC actually worked extremely well, it was dirt cheap and easy to work with, only place I had a problem was directly over the exhaust manifold, even then it wasn't that big an issue. It was only meant to be temporary but it worked so well I never changed it.
