Setting base timing
How do you know what base timing, total timing to run on a boosted motor? I have a 390 SBC running an F1 Procharger and plan on running about 14-15 PSI of boost. I have a BTM box. How do I start to sort out timing?
I have not fired the motor yet. Once I get it to at least idle and run, I plan to drive it straight to the dyno and have them help me fine tune it. I just gotta get it out of my garage. The motor has an ATI fluid damper and a pro billet MSD dizzy.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Re: Setting base timing
Since no one with more experience has chimed in..... I would say if your just driving it to the dyno and taking it easy, I would just run some conservative timing and just try not to make much, if any boost on the way there. Something like 8-14 initial, and max of 25 should be fine for a trip across town. I would be more concerned with your A/F ratio not being to lean since it will bring on detonation real quick if it leans out.
