Re: Tpi nitrous kit help.
If you just have a plate for the throttle body then you will want to get/need:
-- nitrous solenoid and fuel solenoid. Dont matter whose you get, they are all about the same. I've pieced together kits from harris speed works since I like their prices and they are/were local to me.
-- 15-20 ft of -4 an braided steel line and ofcourse a nitrous bottle. 10, 15, or 20 lb, with mounting hardware for the trunk or rear seat trans tunnel. Mount it where ever you like. Need atleast 15 ft of line to run it from the bottle to solenoid.
-- blow down tube for bottle and nitrous pressure gauge. Blowdown tube for bottle safety, if rupture disk breaks, then all the nitrous will be channeled outside of the car thru the blowdown tube. Best to mount bottle in trunk well, and drill hole for blowdown tube to exit underneath car. Gauge can adapt to the bottle.
-- optional bottle heater blanket. I like this to keep pressure controlled. Harris speed works has a nice kit that has a pressure sensor on it that turns heater off when reaches full pressure. I keep the gauge near the tank with a simple AN adapter piece so I can monitor pressure that way. Some guys put the gauge in the car somewhere but for that you'd need a pressure transmitter to electronic gauge. I dont think you should run a pressure line like that to gauge in car even tho most run the actual nitrous feed lines under neath the carpet in the interior thru the firewall to solenoids. Definately dont run a fuel pressure line inside the car.
-- After you mount the solenoids, you will need to order some -3 AN line to connect solenoids to the nitrous plate. usually most kits are using -3 AN lines. Also need a fuel line from fuel rail to fuel solenoid. Can usually tap off the schrader valve port if you can get the right fittings but not sure how thats done on TPI since I think that valve is integral with the fuel rail hard lines?
-- Need a Activation switch mounted inside the car to arm the solenoids. 12 v source.
-- Throttle WOT switch or TPS activation switch to activate solenoids to spray fuel/nitrous only when WOT is acheived. Harris speed works has a nice bracket mounted one for LT1's that can work on TPI cars throttle bodies.
-- ofcourse you need the right jets for the nitrous plate for the shot you will be running.
-- Step colder plug if spraying more than 100 shot. Tighten the gaps while your at it.
-- Consider a wideband o2 sensor to monitor air fuel on the spray.
-- Last but certainly not least, if spraying 100 or more hp shot, you should adjust your timing 2-4 deg from your n/a tune. General rule is 2 deg per 50 hp shot taken OUT. Some cars can tolerate no timing taken out for 100 shots or less but you just have to try it. BUT for starters, go safe and pull 4-5 deg.
If you dont tune your own chips and dont have an ignition box like mallory 685/hyfire VI, or similar MSD unit with adjustable timing retard, then simply set base timing 2-4 deg lower for now.
BEST way is a timing retard function in an ignition box.
Ofcourse you will need the necessary switches, wiring, connectors, relays, etc to make all this work.

Thanks Orr89RocZ ima make a list of all things you've mentioned on your post. Around how much you guys think I'll spend to complete the kit?

Re: Tpi nitrous kit help.
Keep saving... you can buy the LT1 kit from harris speed works and just adjust things to make it work. Its 450 for the kit. Does not include heater or other miscellaneous items that are nice to have but its complete kit that will allow you to spray a shot.
Piece it together adds up abit
-- bottle is 150
-- bottle brackets 50
-- solenoids 180
thats already over budget and you dont have lines and fittings yet.
lines are usually 3-4 bucks a foot. 15 ft of feed line, ~$60 bucks, then 2 small -3's for solenoid to plate ~20-25 bucks.
Just browse their website.

Re: Tpi nitrous kit help.
Piecing it together is more custom for your specific install. You can get creative with the install that way. Kits work well too, but you have to find one specifically for the TPI stuff.

You may want to just save up and buy NOS 5151. Designed for the TPI. I have it on my 1992 formula 350 and have gone 12.48@109.
