the 355 twin turbo iroc officially lives

http://www.streetfire.net/video/first-start_2323193.htm

right after that video my starter started to make lots of noise and then it stoped spinning the motor over
which u can hear/see in this video
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/b...er_2323198.htm

so i pulled the starter and thgis is what i found

Name: IMG_20111007_190525Large.jpg

so i tore it down rebuilt it it and had it back in the car in 20 minutes flat

http://www.streetfire.net/video/star...ed_2323200.htm

so hopefully ill be pulling wheels and running just as fast as martys car here shortly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5e2c...layer_embedded

our engine combos are almost identical i have +5ci a lil better flowing set of cyl heads and slightly larger turbos , and i even have the 2 stage 100 shot nitrous system on the car

that doesn't mean you'll be faster, you'll just break parts faster... LOL, ok, that would be faster at something...

Good luck!

Re: the 355 twin turbo iroc officially lives

Just for comparison, the first time Marty hit nines he was running the stock 991 truck heads with 1.72"/1.50", along with a set of 1.6:1 rockers, High Energy 268 Camshaft, a 90-shot of nitrous, and two stock GN turbo's. You should be making way more power than his did when he started, especially with the amount of nitrous your planning on running, which is why I was curious about your cam specs...

108 its a really lumpy cam, the thing loped hard with the carb on the motor, and still loped pretty good with the fuel injection

once i got the motor warm and got it to idle it jumps between 650-800 rpms , if the cam does run good i may keep it i love the rough idle

Definitely keep it... at least long enough to see what she does on the dyno, this way we can compare that one with the 224/224 when your done. By the way, my starter solenoid went on mine last night too. Was in Hazlet when it happened. Pain in the @ss to do in at night.

Thats a big cam and alot of overlap for a 355 turbo motor...goes against the conventional turbo cam wisdom I'd be curious to see how it runs. I've seen one cam on a 108 lsa in Blown385's ride on theturboforums and his truck ran low 9's Definately not the normal turbo cam spec

marty ran the 224/224 summit cam and told me to go with that. said it works perfectly with the tpi.

my starter chewed up the drive gear as u can see, the soillinoid wasnt pushing the gear all the way out.

prevoius owner had put the soiliniod on but didnt tighten it down all the way. luckily i had bought a starter rebuild kit proir to it going out.
it did slightly damage the flexplate though. when u crank the motor it has one noisy spot on it were the teeth are worn on it.

but dont matter i have to put an sfi flexplate in it anyways

yeah it is but i love the way it sounds, on the other hand theres a few guys on the ttf.com running the much larger summit turbo cams on sb's
260+/260+ @ .050 on 110 lsa's and they run good

marty also tried the 234/234 cam i belive on his setup it made more power but the limited rpm range of the tpi kept him from going any faster with it, but he also ran a pretty much bone stock tpi just removed the egr bumps and some slight matching behind the tb

ull get away with it with the 305, the 305 can turn more rpm before the tpi will kill it,the 305 is going to have to turn more rpm over the 350 anyways to make power

My TPI is siamesed, RPM is really no longer an issue even if I were running a 406. It'll spin as high as I want it to either way, and I'm forced to run a limiter. Any idea on when your headed to the dyno bro...?

The words anemic and restrictive in my sig is sarcasm lol...

dyno wont be till after i paint the car, rmr racetrack closes soon so i dont think ill make it there this season, but i think vegas raceway is open for a bit longer so ill prolly make it there

btw uploading another video i finally found my afterstart enrichment settings in tuner studio. wish i could use megatune since i know it inside and out, but the version of code im running has to many options to use that to tune with

since your on the topic of cams, and hopefully you dont mind me hijacking your thread a little....
are those durations at .050? reason i ask is i have a crane solid cam in my 3.4 660 with ~230* at .050 on a 110 lsa. kind of a lopey cam but still pulls decent vacuum. crane doesnt offer this grind anymore under the new ownership so i dont have the exact specs. lift is ~.500". could i put a decent turbo setup on there without swapping cams? thanks and sorry for the hijack

*edit* since your on streetfire....

that cam would work for a turbo setup, if u get real serious with the turbo setup u would have to swap to something with a 112/114 lsa down the road

I think your right, I think it was '07. This was the reason why we were out back tuning in the pits that night, something happened down the track and you let off. This was just before the video above, same night...

Actually, this was the last run of the night. Again, you let off of the gas because you heard something, while then finishing the night with a whopping 19 seconds lol...

Cool, I'm gonna pull them from youtube then. I have a few more video's lying around, just gotta pull them from the DVD's that they're on. Why are you considering the supercharger in the other thread....?

cool man yeah put up anything u have, i dont have any of the earlier videos form the v6 car.

the supercharger is just to have, i basically have a second twin turbo kit ready to go, it was for my silverado but im going to leave the truck as it is, so if i can trade of the kit for a supercharger it would be nice to have laying around for the next f-body i buy, maybe even adopt the kit to a v6 car .p600b would actually work damn good on a 3.4 motor

Re: the 355 twin turbo iroc officially lives

You know what would look good on your Iroc once she's painted blue, a set of polished GTA rims lol. These are the rears, but the rear tires are going on the fronts w/the deep dish, and a set of drag radials are going on the rears. You want them...?

Those are very nice rims for your Camaro, but you know me though, when I see a Trans Am, I see a TTA, and I love the way the GTA's look on them. Check out this one of a kind Red TTA prototype, which was nicknamed "Flame" by it's creators. Gotta love the crosslace rims, they never go out of style....
