Could someone please tell me how to identify a fake Masterpower turbo. What signs to look for? Does real masterpower turbos have part number, serial number, model number tag on the back of the compressor housing?

 

Yeah it should have a tag with part numbers and such on them. Not sure what the knock offs have. May want to contact someone like VS Racing or Modular Turbo who deal with Master Power. They may beable to tell if its real or not. Got any pics of yours?

Yeah after looking at yours I believe the one i do have is real. Nevertheless I will contact one of the guys next week. But here are Pics, I got it at a unbelievable price which made me question its quality. That looks legit to me. Same bag, same box, same internal documentation that mine came with.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what wastegates and BOV did you go with on your build?

 

master power turbos when copied dont say master power on them

 

I read over on LS1TECH that some people were putting masterpower turbo compressor housings on cheaper turbos. And that real ones did not come with a paint on one of the compressor impeller fins. The thread was old but this is it
