high compression question??????

I know just enough about engines to be dangerous, I have no experience with chargers/blowers or turbos, only fuel and nitrous. I have a high compression big block 13.5:1 and I'm told a charger cant be installed on an engine with high compression, I know of one locally, there is a corvette with 17:1 compression with a blower. It runs on alcohol, and is obviously an all out race car. Is this possible to do with race fuel, on a car that is already not street friendly, but does have a license plate on it?

Run alcohol and you can do it. May be able to get away with few psi on a very high oct race gas but its not worth the effort

Swap pistons for boost

Re: high compression question??????

e85 and a2w ic. what is the current dcr?
dont necessarily have to swap pistons. a head w a larger chamber if available. and manipulate the dcr some w a new cam. or swap pistons whatever is easier.
but if you have access to e85. run that full time. before i had to drive 10miles each way in heavy traffic to get e85. now i have e85 station 5min. from my new shop.
building mine low scr but really hi psi and no ic. street car but not a dd.

Re: high compression question??????

Only e85 station i know of near new alex pa is in monroeville, 30-35 min drive. Not worth it imo

13.5 is still high for e85 unless you spray mostly pure meth at wot.

With decent cam e85 could be fine at cruise and such but wot under big hp those chambers are gonna see alot of pressure
