Guys here in Jersey get pulled over left and right when running fender dumps both to and from the track, especially with NYC plates, they literally wait for them. My neighbor races an EVO with the turbo dump straight up out of the hood, which I am definitely not a fan of. Most guys don't anticipate turbo failure, ridiculous accident waiting to happen on the street. Glad you two guys run it out back, as Dave has Street Outlaw fever lol. Billet fender rings are only thirty bucks on ebay Dave, so don't cheap out and try to make your own...

 

im to cheap to build a full ex system specially when the s475 it takes a 5 inch downpipe which i have split into dual 3.5's.
that and the fact that i can get away witht he fender dumps here makes the decision all that much easier

 

I hear you on the fender exits. I had no choice but to run them for now until I can get the car on a drive on lift and figure out how I can run mine. I may have to step down from a 3" pipe to a 2.5" and merge it into my 4" exhaust. But I still have yet to fire mine up to see how it sounds. It will not be a daily driven car though.

from what i have heard the town is taking the property to turn it into a tech center for the college , the reace track is/was an old airport , they were trying to raise money to pour new concrete and move down the runway but aparently it didnt happen , and they are looking for a new location

the surface at this place was better then the actual racetrack up in salt lake city, if they dont find a new location soon i will start trailering the car to vegas

the one in st george was nice wide open runway no walls, nothing to hit if u got loose and u could hookup on that track , ill post some pics up later when i get back home

 

its alright im not going to make it anyways, noticed 1 rocker wasnt getting any oil today when i had the valve covers off

damage apears to only be 2 pushrods , and possibly 1 rocker from lack of oil
not sure if i can get a single rocker intime before the 12th , summit doesnt sell theese rockers as singles

anyways what happened is i didnt pay attention on the center intake bolts , 1 of the bolts on each side lined up directly with a pushrod , well a bolt that was about 1/8th inch to long in the center holes and it was pressing on the pushrods , ill snap some pics after lunch when i head back . im going to yank the intake check the lifters and cam and pray they didnt get hurt

 

will be about an hour before the video is finished uploading but i shot this right before i backed the car out of the shop to take it to inspection , and thats when i started to hear the valve trian noise to loud in the shop to hear it . i have my fingers crossed the the only real damage is the pushrods , im going to take the roller rockers apart when i go back after lunch to check the bearings

special thanks to a member of yellow bullet who saw one of my videos and saw my crappy steering wheel , and offered me a brand new grant wheel he had cheap , same exact wheel i had already just stainless instead of black

 

good news is the only damage so far is 2 pushrods , just ordered 3 replacements from summit just incase. decided not to pull the intake , just going to slam 2 pushrods in it fix the bolts and see what happens, should have the pushrods here on friday i hope

 

Thanks to a member from another forum i have a non tore up steering wheel , he saw one of the videos with my tore up wheel and offered me a brand new matching grant wheel for cheap

You don't adjust the lifters with the engine running after doing the initial setting with the engine off?
Or was the intake installed after you ran the engine adjusting the lifters?

I would at least check the lobe lift with a dial indicator on those lobes. Gut feel is that they are messed up.

 

engine was dont on the stand , and then after intial breaking with the engine ruunning , when we took the car to the track we yanked the intake at one point to go threw the valve train , just the other day i did a valve readjustment to dbl check and thats when i ran into the issues.

while at the track we installed to long of an bolt in the center holes of the intake

i refuse to pull the intake and check the cam and lifters , i will stab 2 pushrods in it tommorow and see how it does , if this cam fails i am putting together my roller motor , or i am buying a big block

just got home for lunch and ups was just pulling out of my place when i got home , much to my relief pushrods were sitting on my doorstep , not sure if ill get the car dont today as my back is acting up again , but ima try my hardest to get it all buttoned back up and home today

 

i have a sbc i would sell too.. 358 forged stuff with vic jr. heads and single plane.
also have a set of afr 210 eliminator competition ported heads i would sell.

 

cars home runs good , engine seems ok , need to buy an aftermarket temp gauge , stocker was reading 240 by the time i pulled int he driveway but it wasnt boiling over .
im thinking the stockeer is reading 40-50* over actual temp , which i woulda had my laptop with me as i coulda just looked at the the temp the ms was reading

 

car sounds good , i think im going to drive it over to the carwash today and mess around with it while im out of i do ill grab some video

I love those rims you have on your car . Our local gas station has cam2 race gas @ the pump . I can not lie its nice.

 

they are really nice rims and i think it only paid like 425$ for the set from summit racing for 2x 15x8 and 2x 15x4 's

normally i wont run this on race fuel , but since i need to dial in the tune i wanted it to be safe along with a good all out dyno pull

 

trying to sort a semi cold misfire/backfire doesnt do it once the motor is warmed up i need to disable my anti-rev system and see if it still does it as the anti-rev system puls a ton of timing and adds a bunch of fuel when it kicks in

 

ive got the missifre.backfire solved was a combination of the anti-rev system and a ex valve that was a lil tight .

the bad news is theres about 2.5 inches of snow on the ground atm, currently 24* like wtf it was 80* 2 days ago
