383 procharger project

Hi, I am italian, sorry for my english...

I have 1991 z28 with 305 tpi, complete exhaust, walbro fuel pump, 24 lb injectors in tpi with 58 throttle body and procharger system at 9 psi.

I have a 383 short block (1984 cast year) to finish of built and swap the 305

What do you recommend to install for complete my 383 with procharger?

I search a budget built and 4/500 hp close maximum.

Can I use my Tpi system?
Can I use LT hotcam or other budget parts ?

Thanks!

Re: 383 procharger project

If staying TPI, an aftermarket unit would be necessary. A lot of restriction with a stock tpi on a 383.

Re: 383 procharger project

Welcome to the board
check out my thread in this section “surest route to 400 fwhp”
the specs on my build are in the thread. It is a decent set up making close to 400 fwhp with after market tpi on a 383 block
One mistake I made was the higher compression ratio so you may want to look into reducing compression ratio to supercharge.

Re: 383 procharger project

In my opinion, the boost or positive pressure of the blower should overcome any restriction of the intake manifold...
I assume that because the block is from 1984 that its designed for a flat tappet camshaft...
That will affect what camshafts you choose. The LT hot cam was a roller cam if I remember correctly.
Google search "flat tappet camshafts for boost-Chevy"
