supercharger on a 305 tpi

I asked my mechanical about more power and he told me to supercharge the 305 tpi.
He suggested about 330-360hp. is this possible?
what about the manual tranny? should i keep it until it breaks or should i replace it right away?
thanks for your help!

I say if you have the money, go for it. What type of s/c do you want to run? Im not sure how much power YOU would be making, but I know Willie runs low 12's on his blown 305.

Here is his website, check it out!

Hey, you have the same setup as me. I have a 90 Iroc (305, G92)and will be running a ATI Procharger after I get all my motor work done. As for the 5 speed... I will be keeping mine no matter what!! (might need a TKO to keep everything happy) I have spoken to Willie a bunch of times and he knows his stuff just take a look at his sight. My setup is not going to be 100% like his but he did point me in the right direction on many things.(To Willie: Thanks again) My plans are set for low 13's to high 12's at first but I was told to set my goal a little lower by a few people because of the items I have on my "to get list". For all the "put a 350 in it people" reading this, I would be a little worried because I have read a couple post about people building 305s and running some nice times. So why would you even bother saying that??

Based on what you already have Swisscheese, I would say you could see low 13's depending on how good you drive and launch. As far as the 5-speed that would also depend on how nice you are to it when you shift and whether or not you launching at a rediculous rpm on ET's. My 5-speed never have me a problem and I was running 11.50's on my street tires. The key word there is STREET tires. I wasn't shocking the transmission too bad. I just rolled out and put it to the floor. So be nice to it and you should be fine. Get you a good clutch though. The superchargers tend to make good low end torque.

305's like boost. They are strong blocks.

Smaller pistons lessen the chance that you will detonate. You just lose some bore (torque) and cubic inches.

Hey, thanks for the answers. First I thought about getting a bigger engine but I think a sc-setup would be also nice. So i hope it doesnt take to long until its done...

I recommend that you explore the possibility of the t56 over the TKO tremec (they are both made by the same company "TTC" formerly tremec and borg warner) it is only slightly weaker and some times more practical by virtue of price and availability.
