Question for all who have ran nitrous on a 305
what model 305 was it? im planning on a 75-100 shot on my lo3 TBI 305. is there any internal differences between the TPI and TBI 305s? whats the most shot i could get away with for awhile? my car has 101k on it. id like some input on people who have had nitrous on a 305

if you dont have forged internals it would be risky. with 101k miles i think 100HP, even 75 HP, and no forged internals might be pushin it.Your engine should be able to handle 50HP for a while, but not too long because you DO have 101k. however if you get forged internals (pistons, crank, new beaings, rods, etc.) you could run with 100-125HP no probem, but when you get around a 200HP shot, it just seems too much for a 305 in my opinion. as for the differences between TBI and TPI, not too sure about that but i think they have basically the same components, maybe different rods or bearings.

I ran a 50hp shot in my firebird with an lg4.Everyone said it would blow the first time, but I got 4 months out of it and used 11 bottles.I'm sure if you take it easy and get the tuning just right,75hp on your motor will last longer than mine did.I used mine on a daily basis, leaving stop signs, almost every traffic light,
and passing on the highway. My motor had 150 km on it.

what the hell!?!?!? I ran a 125 shot on an old 305 I had (approx same mileage) for a LOONG time w/ absolutely zero problems. It is safe as long as the fuel pressure is there and the timing is set back a few degrees!! I sold the motor and spray to a guy up the street, he has it in his S-10...and its running fine and he spray's it A LOT!! Your fuel delivery system has to be in great working order and run a Hobbs switch and your good. Also, run a step colder plug
i was thinking about a 75hp shot...you really run 125?? how many miles is on that motor? i think 75 wouldnt hurt anything seeing as 4 bangers can run a 75 shot...BTW was your TBI? i just put in a new fuel pump, coil, cap, rotor, wires, will need new plugs i hear platinums dont go good with n2o...also i heard the wet systems are safer and not as much of a shock on the motor...is this true? how many sprays could i get out of a 10lb bottle with a 75shot?

a 75hp shot flows about 3lbs a minute I believe. So if that's true then you will get 32 10 second shots. But you always want to run off the top half of the bottle to maintain maximum pressure.

Sprayed a 100 shot in mine several times last summer. No problems. I have MSD adjustible timing control mounted on my dash so it's easy to retard the timing. My motor has less than 20k on it as it is. A forged 350 is going in so I plan to spray the hell out of it at the track this year. Maybe a few 150 shots.

My buddy CamaroRacer1992 ran a 120hp shot on his 305 TBI for a long time. He has a purge valve and an MSD Timing Control box so I don't know if that was the reason why it lasted so long. But I am buying the kit off him and I plan on running it on my 305 TBI that has 110K on it and he ran a 13.18 in the 1/4 mile with my similar mods plus slicks and his 120 shot. I am just learning about the do's and donts of NO2 though but if u wanted to talk to him. His e-mail is CamaroRacer1992@yahoo.com

ive talked to him about it a couple times...how hard would a MSD box be to install? also doesnt that add some ponies to? i think im probably gonna stick a 75 shot on there
