The Legality Issue
Now, talking simple issues. Is it illagal to put a blower, like the 6-71, on your engine. Will the cops seize my vehicle. This is what I have heard.
For me it doen't make any sense, why would the police waste time in us, rather that the true criminals...

What part of Florida are you located?
The only thing I can think of (other than the visual imparment thing mentioned earlier) is that if you have an emissions controlled vehicle, it would be like driving around with a neon sign saying "look at me I am very illegal" which might be an issue even with the demise of emissions stations here. If you want to get blown, do it under the hood, in private :-).

I am located on Pembroke Pines, North Miami. I am looking in to a weiand 177 blower, but knowing that I will allways wan more power, I though why not go with a 6-71.... save myself the double expense.. but I think I go with an under the hood roots style blower... "better save than sorry"

Ah, you are just down the road :-).
I think that you will be perfectly happy with the Weiand 177, and will not miss the 6-71. A nice cowl induction hood and you are set.
I had the B&M equivalent to the Weiand on a '85 IROC (back in '85) and other than the tensioner which was a total piece of caca, I was VERY happy with the setup. I believe that the Weiand is a superior product. What is really weird is that apparently Holley now owns both lines - go figure.
You might also want to investigate posts in the past from people who have put non-roots style blowers on their third gens. They have their advantages over the roots style.

your emissions referee will probably draw his side arm the moment he gets a look at it and shoot you in the head.

Cool! I was under the impression that you needed a 6" to clear it and then it was questionable. I was planning on doing 4" anyway, so a mini-blower might be in my future after all.

OMG this post is old! I have already run that blower in my previous post, sold it, got a new one, sold it, and now im building another blower motor with another blower!!!!
and to answer my previous question up above, a 2" cowl will clear that blower in the picture.
