Ok, i know alot about turbos, but my question is, how does a supercharger work, its belt driven?right?, if it is, wouldnt it be easy to get one to work with my 3.1L V6? I could get the pipes custom made to go from the supercharger to the intake but is that all i need to do to get it to run, other than oil lines, ect? No exhause needed?
you would have to fab up a mounting bracket, custom make any piping from the SC to the TB. also you wll need a way to add more fuel when you hit boost, to prevent detenation. also you need a custom crank pulley to drive the SC.
If you use a self contained unit from ATI, then you will have no worries about oil lines.
and nope they do not need any exhaust mods to work, but a better flowing exhaust will help make more power.
.
that's all i can think of for now.

I was searching the web through alta vista and found a turbocharged F*rd Taurus. I gave him kudos for the inginuity, but ***** for the car of choice.
im on the same boat 1st gen ....
the v6's computer stock cannot handle a turbo/SC...some serious fuel delivery changes must be made i guess..
what i wonder is if we run real low boost will the stock comp take it?
i donno what hte v8 guys do about the computer though...
what SC are u lookin at??

Most of the supercharger kits come with a boost sensitive FMU (fuel management unit). it basically blocks off the return fuel to increase the pressure in the fuel system, making the injectors spray more fuel.
you could also use a aftermarket ECM like Accel DFI, speedpro FAST, Haltech, etc....
or you may be able to adapt a carroll superfueler to give you the extra fuel.
hope this helps ya
