P1SC on Stock Bottom

Im currently looking for a 350 short block and I am wondering if I should be looking for a forged bottom end or just stock. I plan on running a P1SC with 9 psi. Will this be ok for a stock bottom end because forged is out of my price range right now.

Also what kind of Runners work best for supercharging?

from reading different posts on this board i would reason to say that 9 PSI is the absolute max i would run on a stokc bottom end. in other words, thats pushing it. i would say 6 psi is a more manageable solution until you can upgrade to the forged assembly and get the job done right. otherwise you might be replacing stock internals to the point that it surpasses the price of the forged assembly.

Damn! That wasn't the answer I was looking for. Guess I will wait till I can get a forged assembly.

Thanks Mike

Any ideas about the best runners?

Willie runs 10psi on his stock bottom end 305 and hasn't had any problems that I know of.

right now i'm running 10#'s boost on a stock bottom end and in another month or so i'm jumping up to 12#'s but if i blow up the engine i'm not to worried, cause it'll give me a reason to build a new forged engine to handle some serious boost

later

9 psi on this stock bottom end L98 was ok until the old owner put 85 octane in it and blew the head gaskets.
