Could actually be useful, mods could confer with each other on how to handle a potential problem.

I like the idea.

i'd vote for that. it would have to be restricted to only mods to work though. i don't think having everyone see a discussion about any individual who may be a problem woudl be good for the board.

later

This is what PMing and E-Mail is for. Bet that there won't be a separate board for it.

Yep but it doesn't hurt to ask. A moderators board is for moderators only to discuss problems. questions, and etc that would pertain to maintaining the boards that wouldn't need to be viewed by others.
example: Moving a post to the Classifieds. About a month ago there was a post that needed to be moved to the Classifieds but it wasn't an option within the list. So the only route to use it leave a post redirecting them to the Classifieds and then locking the post.
example 2: If there is a troll running across the boards starting trouble(which there is). The username could be posted within that board alerting the moderators and Dirk of the problems this person has been causing so something could be done. Much easier than starting a petition and e-mailing or PM'ing all of the moderators then gathering the info and presenting it to Dirk of the problem.

With roughly 35-40 Moderators I would say it would get some use. Just a thought anyway.

I also agree again with Jobryan.

We all know that we have trolls running around still.

It would enable us to confer with one another on how to handle a problem.

I strongly vote for this one.

Here's a thought. Set the moderator board as a link under the moderator's control panel. Or set it up as a link on the main board that shows up only for a moderator, or whoever Dirk chooses.

Oh yeah, Metalli. Kinda like instant replay

Haha a super moderator, that's a good idea.

I've seen this done actually only on one other board, www.jeepforum.com If you aren't a moderator, it says that you don't have permission to enter the area. Not a bad idea in some ways.

If anything, I would nominate Brad or Dirk to run the moderators board, because they have final say on anything that goes on here.

I wouldn't want the responsibilities of a "super moderator"
I'd give it to Dirk, Brad, or possibly one of the current mods who has been here the longest, per Brad and Dirk's choosing.

I still agree with jobryan in saying that the board would be useful.

Here's a thought. Say for example I log in here for the day. Possibly have the Moderators board show up as a link under the tech board for just the moderators?

For example, if I (robertg) log in, I can access the Mod only board. If Joe Schmoe (joeschmoe) logs in, he does not see the link to the mod board.

My question is, is it easily added? How much of a Pita is it to set up?

well the super mod was a joke lol,i assumed dirk or brad would proabably do it,or both even

you could just ahve a password protected forum, like NETGO does with their admin board or the office space forum they have.

who you callin joe schmoe

can i be a mod? hehe
