I know that alot of people experienced this little animal today. Trouble is how do you really stop him?? He is using a hotmail account and can just reregister and cause more crap. I know alot of you do use hotmail accounts. On one of the other sites I use they do not allow hotmail address just for this reason. Can you block IP address or can this little monster return whenever he wants??? Just something to think about>

someone can ban IP addresses I believe, not sure if I can, but he's banned.

 

LMAO, i just caught him as CamaroTypeR before he could even post, soon as he confirms his sign up, he's banned again, lol

if anyone knows how to ban IPs let me know, this guy has done it again his up to 3 bans I know of.

Mark, dunno if thirdgen.org is run on an apache server, but if so, I might be able to get you the code to block his ip out. (or anyones)

The code should be placed within the httpd.conf file (installed in /usr/local/apache/conf/ as a default, as I recall.)

Not too familiar with the total sum of things (I'm not a coder) but from I can read, we use this in our httpd config file to block out certain ips. (This is modified for tgo)

THIS IS INCOMPLETE, just a section of the main body of code used to block http accesses on a server by IP address. I wanted to give an example in case an administrator is interested.

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address you want blocked out by apache. If all works, he will receive a 404 forbidden error message when he tries to access thirdgen.org

You will have to type 'apache restart' to get it working. (takes a second, or around there to restart apache)

I don't know what thirdgen runs, but I can ask permission to give out the code we use if you do run apache.

 

N/m, Thirdgen runs Apache/1.3.23 Server.

If there isn't something like this setup already, and you can get ip's you need to block, PM me and I'll see if I can get our system admin to get me the specific code.

as with everything....just ignore this kid's....gayness. if we keep getting pissed off he'll get what he wants. he's just some kid who picks a random message board and acts stupid to see how many replies he can get. if we ignore his gay posts he'll go away eventually.

 

If his IP address were to *accidentally* be given to the forum, then I'm sure I could have some fun with it... I don't think he'd like about 20 people on cable connections pinging him continuously...

 

That would work and it sounds funny,but...Then we are no better then he. I guess the only thing we can really do is not respond to any stupid threads, period. That way he will get bored of us, and go elsewhere. Trouble is everyone, and I mean everyone must NOT post to stupid threads such as his. Also we know the there registraion dates will be new and they will have very little posts. Lets stick together on this one everyone and we will win without stupping to their level.
