Delete-Happy Mods...
there have been tech threads in the suspension forum that have mysteriously been disappearing as of late... I know Steve Spohn wouldn't be deleting threads about problems with his own parts... and theres only so many other people who have access to do such a thing in that forum.
just wondering why
just wondering why
don't need a reason, as stated in the user agreement threads can be locked or deleted for any reason, or no reason, but it's a good bet it violated the user agreement or the rules of this site. can you be more specific?

and yes, I read the thread before it was deleted and saw no violation of any of the user agreement...

positive... the suspension forum doesn't get enough new posts per day to bury a post started yesterday that didn't get the chance to have any replies

Well my thread had definate tech content about the broken spohn lca's and ede deleted it telling me it had no tech content.
Here is the text of my deleted post.
Can someone please point out how there is no "tech content" in my deleted post?

Well there were 2 threads about a broken Spohn LCA here, but for some reason both of them are missing now. These posts delt with a purely techinical problem and should not have been deleted. If there were purposely deleted, I for one would like an explination as to why.
The parts in question were adjustable LCA with ureathane insert rod ends. The failure was of the female thread in the LCA itself. It seems they stripped out for some reason. I own a machine shop and have made many threaded hiem inserts that weld into chrome moly tubing for aircraft engine mounts. It seems that there has been some speculation that the components used (5/8" threads) were not large enough to handle the load of an LCA.
We had several simular failures of our threaded inserts on aircraft and testing was done to determine why the threads failed. As it turns out in this instance it was not a failure of the material, a part failure of the rod end, nor a design error. It was a maintenance error that was determined to be the cause of the failures.
As it turns out, the jam nuts were backing off and the threads were being pounded out by the vibration of the engine in the air frame. The threads need to be in tension at all times to prevent failures. The cure was simple, blue loctite and routine checks to make sure the jam nuts were torqued to specs.
So all of you running rod ends on your suspension components need to be aware of this problem.

that would be the part that has no tech content. you really want to beat a dead horse don't you. like you were told on more than one occasion you can not use the message board as a substute for e mail or PMs, and trying to sneak around it isn't acceptable. a thread can be locked or deleted for any reason and without explanation, so even if it was full of tech content it still falls within the site and board rules as well as the user agreement. if you're so unhappy about having a thread deleted why don't you write the admins and see if they can't help you out.
