I'm confused about the classifieds?????

I posted a link in my ad that was for Ebay. I'm sorry. I didn't know that that was a new rule. I must have overlooked a post somewhere about it. I can't say I agree with it, but that's irrelevant at this time.

My point, and why I'm confused is...

My post was deleted. At the time I didn't know why. I was chatting with Momar and he informed me of the rule. So I then emailed the mod and asked him why Ebay links weren't allowed EVEN THOUGH it was for a 3rd gen part. He responded with an explaination, and I respected that.

I then posted another ad that simply said "If you're interested, email me and I'll inform you more about it."

That got deleted also???

There was no link to Ebay. Why did it get deleted?

I don't understand.

I need the money. I don't have the option of trying to sell this thing outright for a fixed amount of money, then holding onto it for 1-2 months. That's why it's on Ebay. We don't have an auction here so what other option do I have?

I'd like to post it here so that 3rd gen owners can see it. It's a part that can really only be used on either a 3rd gen, 4th gen, or an S-10. My intentions of posting it here is to make it available to people with 3rd gens. I want people that may need it to be able to know it's up for sale. And, I NEED TO SELL IT!!!

Anyway..... I want to know why it was deleted AFTER I removed the link, and didn't even mention it was on Ebay.

first of all what are you selling, a pistol grip shifter i hope cuz i just lost one on ebay. anywho, yeah the new rule kind of got me mad at first to since i always like to be notified rather than countless hours of searching for a part but i also agree with why they did it. then again i dont see why your thread was deleted if it didnt contain an ebay or non thirdgen link or part.

Ebay doesn't refer business to us, we're not referring it to them. TGO is for third genners and our members. We don't want our people having to bid with the rest of the rabble!

but if he just has it for sale on here, with no mention of ebay, he can still post a ad correct???

AJ_92RS:
my solution would be this:

put down what you want for the part in the ad, and just mention that the price is negotiable.. so if you were asking $300, someone might offer $260 and you could decide if you want to take it

in your ebay ads in the future, mention that the part can be pulled at any time.

and there ya go..... if noone here wants it before the ebay time is up, then its sold on ebay.

most of us look on ebay for parts already, so im sure if we were looking for the part and missed it here, we would find it on there.

Cool. That makes total sense (to someone).

As I said, that's a totally different subject. I don't want to get into that here, now, and probably never. It's not my place to say what you do with your site.

After all, it is your site. :yourock:
