What happened to Drew?? I have noticed that he has not posted in a while. While I am talking about it i noticed it changed the name back to History/ Restoration.

Drew is still around, but he doesn't have the time or passion to be an active Mod anymore.

Drew is the owner right? So you're saying he doesn't have passion towards this site and to update the opening page.

Just kinda curious, but it TGO just on a PC in Dirks basement or something?

Just would like to know how it's all setup, what hardware specs of the TGO server and it's connection to I-net?

The server appears to be running dual AMD Athlon 1600+'s with 1 gig of RAM and a couple IDE drives. I could tell you where it's hosted, along with some other information related to the server, but I don't want to upset anyone in case they don't want the information disclosed, though it's pretty much public knowledge. I used two different sources to get the info. This is stuff I'm sorta interested in and deal with almost daily.

Given the amount of traffic this vBulletin forum has, I think the server load isn't as bad as it could be, nor is it as bad as some others I've seen. I noticed Dirk is running a few different hacks on this forum that is known to help relieve server load and mysql table locking issues.

I think Dirk knows what he's doing He could give more information than I would know, if he wanted to.

Was just curious! Just wondering if the board I logon to on a daily basis (TGO ) is a server in someones house or is it in a business (hosting company etc...).

A buddy of mine has an attic full of servers that host ALL kinds of people's and business's websites, e-mail, etc...

It's kinda wierd to know that ALL these business's info are stored in his (attic / server room)! It is WELL ventilated and nicely setup though, kinda looks like a small room in the CIA !

I'm happily retired from moderating. I don't have the time or desire to sit in front of a computer anymore. My only internet access is a painfully slow dial up connection on a friends computer. I can't find time to research my own projects, moderating a message board is out of the question. So I've moved on.

I check my email about once every 2 or 3 weeks, and I try to reply to fbody related emails.
