Drifting on TGO

Ok, I tried posting about drifting in the "Organized Drag Racing and Autocross" board, and it got locked. And I cannot get a message through to the moderator to tell him that I was told to post about drifting there (I asked about it a long time ago in this board). I did break a rule trying to get to him, and I appologize.
Can someone help me, or let me know where to post on drifting now?

Yeah, thats why we put it there, but the mods there dont seem to think so...
I know most people here arent interested in all in drifting. Probably 80% dont about anything but going in a straight line (and I'd say about as many don't have the skill to try). But, there are those on the boards that ARE interested in drifting, and I dont think it would be a bad thing for them to get some help. It takes a bit more to drift in a thirdgen then it does in a Nissan or some of the more popular cars for it, but they are capable drift cars and I just want to see more domestic muscle in the scene to keep it mixed up.

Oh, and I think it should be manditory for the moderators (the people running and helping out on this board) to be available through PM.

Since it's organized and technically a form of racing I don't see where else it would go Maybe there should be a road racing and drifting forum?

well, the idea is nice, there are just 4 or 5 drifters i can think of, and maybe 10 people who hit the road courses. and the tech between the two is entirely diffrent, one is abotu grip, and one is about the lack of.

i agree that any form of motorsport beyond the farm more popular straight line club, gets little info here, not anyones fault, just very few of us who do something other than go straight. the biggest problem with the drifting threads, is people who don't add anyting other than to mock it. all my personal feelings about drifting aside, it should eb something where people are allowed to post and discuss it, without have people take cheap shots at their hobby of choice.

You can go ahead and post drifting related threads within the Theoretical Racing board for the time being since you seem to be alienated in this aspect. Remember to keep it tech related and we'll see how the popularity of it goes.

drifting doesnt go in the racing board because drifting isnt a form of racing.

Drifting also isn't the fastest or most controllable way around a corner, so that's probably why they don't want it in the racing board, since racing is about speed not trying to look cool going around a curve.

It's a competitive sport that involves cars and interests many thirdgenners.

since when are we talking about autoX and drag racing in this thread?

ohh... you ment drifting..

i guess the tires thing is right... but, when traction isnt a consern, tires are cheap.

in anycase, i guess im a drifter sometimes too..... i like to powerslide.... its not fast, but it sure as hell is fun to walk around a corner with the tail out...
i can understand the attraction to it.

and like most fun things like that, its generally safer in a controled enviroment like a orgnized drifting event then on the street... theres no reason to shun it..

i dont tell drag racers they're idiots for making the car handle like crap, i dont tell autoXers that their cars accelerate slow, and i dont poke fun at dirt trackers for getting mud all over a perfectly good race car... why would you poke fun at them for tossing a car around for the hell of it... makes more sence to me that kids want to do that then any of the other racing above.. i mean, they can AFFORD drifting.... go look at the tire cost for one season of autoX.

I don't think the demand for threads is high enough to cause an issue and the topic doesn't really belong anywhere. I think that any of the drifting related topics can be posted on the Theoretical board since they really don't belong anywhere and the popularity on TGO isn't high enough to need another board.

we def dont need another board.

what we need is some TOLERANCE between board members....

1. people shouldnt be locking threads about drifting as unrelated in one of the boards... pick one.. i dont care.. the racing one is fine with me...

2. people shouldnt be posting crap in the thread about how drifting sucks.... usually that gets out of hand and the thread gets locked.

no matter what form of motorsports you're envolved with, im sure i can (or someone else) come up with a valid argument saying its not a real sport.
get over it... even if its only a fad, let the people talk about it without posting a bunch of crap about "drifting sucks"

*shrug*
