Still slow...and getting worse.
Ok well it appears i am not alone in the delays happening on TGO. I see both those threads were locked and id like to know why. I want help to fix it, changing browsers should not have to be the way to get this site to run right. No im not running some crazy outdated computer so thats not an excuse. This is the only site out of who knows how many bookmarks i have that is running this choppy/slow. Ive been to plenty other VB boards and some bigger then this to try and test on there and they all seem to be fine. I am just making this thread in order to get me and other people help to figuring this out. I understand it is still a very small # of people who are experiancing this but that does not mean its fine the way it is?? Lots of people dont even check this forum so its hard to get an accurate count on how many are experiancing any changes. So please can we figure something out. It is THIS site and only THIS site and it is not my computer. I spend half my life on this damn site and id like to figure it out lol. I cleaned up my computer for over 3 hours last night to try and get it to run faster with no success.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I don't have the "symptoms" that others are talking about (slow scrolling/typing/highlighting), but my CPU usage jumps up to 90-100% when loading any TGO page when every other website only causes the usage to jump to 20-30%. Nothing else changes, no errors in the event log or jumps in paging file usage, just stress on the CPU. I've seen no change depending on the browser as far as usage is concerned either. Let us know what info we can provide you to come up with a solution.
I wasn't the Admin who locked the threads, but it might have been due to people arguing, and inaccurate claims. It does not help at all.
I had mentioned that using FireFox wasn't a proper "fix", but it appeared to work in several cases where actions in your browser (copy/paste, typing text) had severe lag. I suggested FireFox until we can find a solution. If I didn't make that clear enough, sorry.
There is also an intermittent problem with some server load spikes (not continuous) which is causing some delays for things to work (such as clicking on a link and then waiting). These are two different things, and the server load is something that started (intermittently) a few days ago involving intermittent spikes. You, and others, reported the lag weeks ago, when there was no server load present to my knowledge (I keep an eye on that).
Since I've been helping in trying to narrow down the issue, along with Dave and Jason, I know that the issue isn't being dropped. I had noticed the browser lag appears to be present in the TGO template, and not the default vB template. However, with as much template changes that have been made, this isn't a simple issue to track down - that's even if the issue really is in there.

Thank you i appreciate the responce and update.
The lag spike i have noticed it recently, its getting pretty bad especally tonight. That was not my initial problem but then that started happening and i knew something was up..
If arguing does start, just delete or edit some post...i want to try and keep this thread running.

Just want to reconfirm what you're experiencing:
1) When you click on Reply to a thread and start typing your message in the message box, the text takes some time before it appears. Your typed text then catches up as you stop typing.
2) When you attempt to highlight text in a post, and/or use the Copy/Paste commands, you see a delay.
Right?
It may take some time to track. Out of about 4 machines I often use, only 1 of them experiences this lag issue, and it's only in IE. Others I've worked with have said the lag disappeared when they switched to FireFox. As mentioned before, something is causing some users to have their CPU hammered.

Same here on all 6 of my computers I have at my disposel (sp). I mainly noticed the problem today where I can't log in on the main page only when I hit the reply button then I can log in. And all day this morning I couldn't even get to tgo, just displayed page can not be displayed. I tried on 3 computers using different isp's and same thing.
The blank/white pages are likely due to a module "APC" that we've used, and had some problems with, in the past. As mentioned in another thread, it will have to be resolved by Jason or perhaps Dave. If Dave can't, it might not get resolved until Monday.
