Pop ups waste of ad money

Question- Why would TGO sell Hollywood and circuit city? I can guarantee annoyance. If you need to commercialize, please stick with your core focus- Automotive, Accessories, Racing etc. It really seems like a bad place to sell "Going to the Movies" or "Circuit City". The popups really need to be less aggressive.

I don't experience any pop-ups when surfing TGO - at home, at work, at a friends house, my wifes computer, etc. Perhaps your computer has some spam on it, but I don't think its TGO.

Re: Pop ups waste of ad money

I haven't noticed what the ads are for, the more intrusive they are the more I ignore what they are saying. What gets me is the damned ads that overlap what you are trying to read. I HATE that.

What's the point of having ads that **** people off, I understand you have to find new and inventive ways of getting your stuff seen but you don't see billboards flying in front of your windshield as you drive along the highway.

There are no "pop-ups", or alteast there should not be. If there is, it's either a local issue (adware on the member's machine), or it's something we need to be aware because we don't know about it.

The Circuit City type ads were ones that expanded in size when moused over. However, they did this on loaded up, which the ad team was not aware of and did not intend. Therefore, once the members here informed me, and I worked with the ad team, they were removed.

If this is still an issue, please let me know and please show me a screen capture. It is my understanding they are now gone.

I was ok with ads in the beginning, but after a while I felt most of those ads were not 3rd gen related, so I got rid of them all

The Circuit City ad is so annoying, I will have to leave this site for the day and I'm looking for a GTA! I'll come back tomorrow and check it, but I cannot even navigate around this site and my popup blocker is turned off.

Re: Pop ups waste of ad money

I don't know enough about computers to do a "screen capture" but I will tell you that every time my page loads to a new page, such as navigating from home page to message board or from message board to forum board or from forum board to thread board or thread board to another board , so on and so on, I sure you get my drift. Circuit city ads expand on my screen!!!!! I don"t have to move my mouse.
I would estimate that over the last 12 years that I spent nearly $8,000 dollars at their Humble,Tx., or Greenspoint/houston,Tx., locations. Usaually on things like monstercable, and dynomat, Installationkits, etc.
Please let the managment at Circuit City know - "I David Howell of Houston, Texas PLEDGE to NEVER EVER Purchase Another Item AT CIRCUIT CITY!!!!!!!!

+1 on the Circuit City ad. Everytime I go to a different page it opens, I close, and it pops back up. Starting to get annoying.

Re: Pop ups waste of ad money

I understand the issue and will contact our advertisement team to find out about this issue.

Since there are already two other threads about this, I'm going to close this. I understand the frustration, but having multiple threads about the same issues does not make it any easier to follow and address (both sides):
