Re: i cant access TGO from my comp...why?
sorry for the late reply, but yes i can access any other site but TGO from my computer. ive also done the basic trouble shooting things that IE8 says. it just seems like TGO wont load on my comp, and for the life of me i dont now why. none of the settings have been changed in any program (anti virus/malware/spyware) is it possable that the attack did something to my ip address for this site? such as block it or something?
Re: i cant access TGO from my comp...why?
So the answer to your question would be no. If we were blocking, your mom's computer would have the same issue - which you've stated is not the case.
I'd probably start simple. Restart the router. Routers can error and cause strange issues, though this one is a bit less likely. Then I'd focus on the computer. Do a traceroute from the computer to ThirdGen.org. This will see if it's resolving correctly, as well as seeing a response from the server. Really, I'd install FireFox browser (for several reasons) and see if that works.
There is something wrong with your network (ie: router), IE, or security software. This is not something we (TGO) have control over.

ok thanks JT im hopeing its the router, bc ive checked the settings on all my comp software and all the settings where the same. ill check the router then do a traceroute...and hopefully get some answers. im just finding it a coincedance(sp) that after the attack i have problems, its wierd but ill try the router now.
Re: i cant access TGO from my comp...why?
Also try deleting the IE cache.
As I've said, since you said you can access TGO from your mom's computer, behind the same router, it's apparent the issue is local to you and on your end.

You cut off your traceroute on hop 12, but I can see it did resolve correctly and you are receiving ICMP requests from the server.
It looks like something to do with your IE or some security software you're using. Have you tried installing FireFox web browser or any other browser? You could also try resetting IE 8 settings.
There isn't a lot we can do, since this is something on your end and we have no control over your environment.

Although it is unlikely, you should try checking your hosts file to make sure that it hasn't been tampered with by any errant malware / viruses / etc. A quick Google search should tell you how to access your hosts file based on what version of Windows you are running, and you should also be able to find a copy of a default hosts file that you can replace yours with if you suspect any trouble.

Glad it got you back online! I had mine messed up pretty badly by some mal-ware once, and it setup the host file to block me from getting to the websites of all the sites in my browsing history, as well as all of the popular antivirus pages.
