Just wondering if there are restrictions to new users that prevent PMs or are some members able to turn off the ability to be PM'd?
Thx
All new members, or members with low activity, do not have immediate access to the PM system. This measure, which is common, is to help protect the community from Spammers and Scammers.

Any chance of doing this a second time? trying to get in touch with Dyno Don about his custom Y pipes to see if he can help me out.
Same situation here, trying to contact a couple of other members about parts that they have for sale and I cannot PM either of them can I get mine turned on also
JT - This is a good practice and appreciate it. Just wanted to let you know I am not a bot or spammer but have a very specific question for a build someone did. If I can get PM access it would help to not clutter up his post. BTW: The original poster I am wanting to reach out to sent me the link to here so I could ask for PM access. Thank you so much!
I have been active for a year now and I still can not reply to threads or even make a post. How much do I need to pay to be able to give advice and ask questions like everyone else?
Is there any way I can get permission to the messaging feature? I would like to message people directly to purchase things from the classified section.
Can I please be granted permission to send private messages? I am a new user (although I think I had an account 20 years ago) and would like to PM sellers on the classified boards. I tried to submit this message previously but it didnt show up.

Hello,
I need assistance in replying onto other standard threads please, It states I do not have permission
I have posted maybe 3 or 4 times so far, by my post count remains at 1. I started one thread and replied to several others. Is this indicative of a problem?
I am trying to reply to a particular thread about radios and I keep getting this error...RARIROC, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I cannot pm either, so I don't know how to contact the OP about his radios.

Post counts aren't enabled in every section. There is nothing wrong with the counter.
PM access is enabled for accounts that have contributed some content. It is an anti-spam/scam measure that is commonly used.
Several of my posts today I have hit "submit reply" and then was auto redirected to the forum page but my post never posted.
I have been on the Corvette Forum, which is very similar in look and feel to this one, for almost 15 years. I know what I am doing. Getting frustrated with this forum...

Hello
Your posts have been approved.
We have an updated anti-spam filter that automatically scans and moderates any posts that appear to be spam. It's the same program as CF and mostly the same settings.
There will be some false-positives from time to time, as we continue to fine-tune the settings and the spammers adapt and require changes.
As members continue to use the site, they will be less subjected to the automated spam filter.
Is that the one that disappeared, or a different one?
Yes, that is the one...but I see that it is back now.
Yesterday I started getting PMs from admin that say "Our team has reviewed and approved the post you recently submitted in xxx. It is now visible to the community." So, I am guessing because I am new all my posts get reviewed before they publish? Maybe this happened to me on Corvette Forum and I just don't remember it because it was so long ago. If this is a probationary period, how long does it last?
Hello I'm a new member I just bought a 87 iroc 350ci tpi auto in yellow gold and need some information from members, also looking for some small parts like a metal spark plug cover, I am Requesting access to private messages please
Admittedly I am new here. One of the members has an item that I would like to purchase for my GMT400 truck, that is why I register here. There is also some very useful technical information here too, that I can apply to my truck (see avatar photo).
I am currently an active member on GMT400.com and V8Buick.com, as well. I got the information for this site from the GMT400 site.
Can I be activated to send a message to the member selling the part I need? I was going to do an introduction in a "new members" type thread, but couldn't find where to do so...
Hello JT, I am also new here and registered to get in touch with Panorama about his awesome 82 switch refurb
And I am reading so many posts right now, this forum is absolutely awesome. Could you please activate Messaging for me?

Could you please enable mine as well, I'd really like to message a member to purchase something.
