Looking good

I did some updating recently too. Along with the Heads/Cam swap I went with this baby.

It has gone 9.3 @ 74 in the 1/8 with a 2.08s 60'. That is not bad for a Goodwrench 350 TBI, Ported TPI heads (1.94/1.60 valves), 9.85:1 compression, mild cam, Edelbrock 3704 TBI, 46mm TBI unit, and 1 1/2" primary headers. All in a 5,300 lbs Van with 3.07 gears.

Hey FAST355 I'm liking the Cadillac air cleaner. Lol. Looks good though. I got a question for you, do you have an aftermarket throttle body. If so what brand and what kind of horsepower increae did you get from it? Also was the throttle body spacer worth any horsepower?

Heres mine. It has the nylon/resin composit carb hat that extreme velocity used to make. Shame they still dont make it. The rest is a 350 with vortec heads, holley 670 TBI, edelcrap performer plus cam (204/214 .420"/.442"), 3" exhaust, 3.5" intake, etc. Doesnt wind real high. Only thing its really good at is turning the car into an unguided missle in first and breaking stuff. Still lots of fun on the street, though.

They still have the hat in aluminum, but its pricey. They also may still include the internal baffle, which would have to be cut out if using on TBI.

Yeah, its just a shame that the Cadillac TBI bonnet is angle the wrong direction. If it were angled the opposite direction the intake hose would be a much straighter shot. The cone filter is only temporary. When I ditch the mechanical clutch fan for the LT1 Dual fan assembly that I have for it, I will be using a 1995 Astro Van CPI air box, ducted to cool air from in front of the core support and a K&N filter.

My TBI unit is not an aftermarket piece, but it was bored over by Tom Bishop @ Extremefi. It is 46mm and has had the top flat milled and chamfered.

The TBI spacer was a cheapy used one (for a 454) that I found on ebay. I think I paid less than $10.00 shipped to my door. I ran it as is for a while with a 454 TBI unit on it. I then pulled it off, cut the center out of it, smoothed everything out, and put it back on with the 46mm SBC TBI unit. I have since had the loose shaft 454 TBI unit bored to 54mm and bushings added to tighten the throttle shafts back up. The re-conditioned TBI unit really helped my idle quality by eliminating a fairly bad vacuum leak around the TBI shafts.

Ok, lets try this again, lol.

What belt line will you be using with those valve covers? I used the standard permiter bolt ones with mine and I had to beat the snot out of the pass. VC to get it to clear the alternator on my serp. system.

dimented24x7..................I had to turn the rear housing of the alt to get enough clearance to the battery connection which is the only problem that I had. I have a pic but cannot get the attachment link to work.

Oh well..........

Happy New Years

Never been a huge fan of the TPI intake. Its a good match to the small runner heads, but the tuned port part of it can be confining once you start modding. Any reason for not using an aftermarket carb style MPFI intake? Just need SD TPI ECM, injectors, rail and your off and running.
