I'm making a clean appearing engine bay - relocating wires, relocating battery to rear, filling in holes, removing the overflow tanks, shaving the indentions in the fenders, etc.
Anyways, I saw some pics a while back of someone who shaved/smoothed the battery trays. I'm wondering if you guys might remember who that was and if anyone else has done it.
I also am wondering if it would be alright to remove the battery trays while the front shocks/springs are still in.
I also did it a while ago. Smoothed the battery trays, amde cover plates for the holes in the sides next to them, filled in each hole in the frame rails, and smoothed my fenders. It looks amazing but took a lot of work. I don't have any pics but you can search on here and probably find some.
Came across this thread a while ago when I was looking how other members had done theirs and thought I would post my finished pictures. Shaved and smoothed the fenders, plated off the battery tray, welded every little hole in the engine bay and plated off the sides of the engine bay. Wet sanded and polished too.
I've done mine as well. Passenger side only though, as I haven't decided yet if I want to relocate the battery or not. You can see it in my thread on smoothing the wheel wells.

Which of course is where I found out how to do it and then I think I told it or shared the link with badnblk.
