Re: post pictures of your head units!

I actually just had to replace my touch screen as my original ebay cheapy mock up screen finally crapped out after 4yrs lol.

Just started putting it in and havent finished filling in the openings. But screen fits well, shave maybe 1/4inch off the bottom of the screen case..just enough that the bottom screen buttons were. Its a Liliput high brightness anti glare screen.

Not hard to do..measure 3 times and cut once as they say lol.

This looks great! What did you head unit come out of? Did you do the mp3 modification yourself?

That's a factory 4th gen cd player. I've got the same setup in mine, but My aux jack is right over the equalizer controls.

Yep, that is correct. Think it came out of a 1999 Trans Am. Bought it on Ebay and did the mp3 Aux mod myself a couple of days ago.

Very cool. What modications did you have to do to the wiring harness? Was the antenna jack the same?

Hi, it came with a harness/adapter to fit my 87. The small antenna jack was also included. Only issue, was my power antenna came to life when i turned on ignition, even if the cd player was off. Just had to swap 2 cords in the harness. Installing the cd player in my console, involved som grinding of the mickey mouse ears infront of the player with a dremmel because they are a little larger than the stock cassette player. Also had to remove/grind som of the plastic inside/at the back of my concole as the new player is a little deeper than the stock. No big deal with a dremmel..

Just curious how that pioneer radio is doing and if you ever get HD stations with it. I just put a DEH 4400HD in mine but it never gets any HD stations that I can see?

YW As far as clearance goes in the radio pod, I think you are better off keeping the radio lower and the text above it. Seems like you would have to cut less of your radio pod out to make it fit. I went with the red illumination too. I can provide pics of how I had to cut my radio pod to get my radio installed with the HUmount if you need them.

When I had the same deck in mine, I had to cut the support behind the radio to get it to fit. Even then it was extremely tight, the thing had to be squeezed in by tightening the screws.

I did have an adaptor harness though, so there was a lot of extra wires back there. That was the main issue.
