Its time for our annual SoCal bar-b-q and picnic

I'm thinking of either Saturday July 8th, or July 15th.

Which date is better for you?

15th works better for me. I really want to see you guys again. It's been years since i was able to go to a meet. The last was the one at Frisco's at xmas time in 2014. Too long.

The park charges $5 to get in, please bring cash.

I'm going to try for the area to the right, as you enter the park. Look down the hill and check for my car. If so, take the first street on the right to the campsite. If its taken like last year, then I will search around till I find something. Just look for the thirdgens.

This is a potluck event. Please bring a food or drink or dessert to share with everyone. We have a canopy and folding chairs, but more is always needed.

We'll start around 3pm, have dinner around 5pm, and leave around 8pm when it gets dark.

Everyone is welcome, and bring your family.

Shawn and Kim: Some hot dogs and buns. Is there a BBQ?

 

I'll bring some Coca Cola and other sodas.

 

I usually bring cheese, lettuce, tomatoes for the burgers.
Is that OK again?

 

IS there a bbq to use there?

 

If I remember the park has picnic tables and those typical park bbq.
Unless somebody wants to bring their own setup?

My wife and I plan to attend. Not sure what voids need filled food wise. Worst case I guess I can't go wrong with snacks or sodas.

 

What else (food/drink wise) is needed? Gotta tell my wife something. LOL

 

Yes, there is a bar-b-q there, but we have to bring our own charcoal. I'm pretty sure Don is taking care of that.

Snacks, sodas, desserts, its all good.

We don't have hamburgers and buns covered yet if you want to bring those.

 

Just need to follow this. Won't know until the dates get closer.

 

Ok, count me and my wife (and the Z28 of course) in! We'll bring a peach cobbler. Home made. It's good, trust me. Lol

 

How many people are coming? This is helpful so we can all know how much food to bring!

If anyone has a special requests for sodas or snacks, please let me know. Otherwise it will be the usual suspects like Coke or Pepsi/Sprite and chips/pretzels.

I forgot- along with the burger veggies listed above, I'll be bringing various kinds of cheese, an onion... maybe some sliced jalapenos... Whatever else I can think of.

My Boys and I will be making this for a few hours tomorrow. We have prior commitments at 5 so we will be able to hangout for a couple hours before we have to hit the road. We will be in my son's 92 rs

 

Itll be a fun drive to get there.

 

What parking section are we going to park in this year?

I circled where we eventually parked last year in red. Seemed to be the least busy lot.

 

We'll be in the same section this year. Hopefully the area northwest of the red circle is available. Thank-You for posting an image/map for reference.

I'll be taking some small tomatoes (salad style) from a friends garden (Organic) as well.

 

That was a spot we took because the usual was not open.

When you come in the gate, look to the right down the hill. that is where we try to get.
There is ample parking by the spot. (no long walk)

I counted 9 Firebirds and 8 Camaros total! Pretty good turn out. Yesterday was fun, it was good to meet everyone yesterday!

 

The peach cobbler was amazing!

 

I was very surprised to see birds out-number Camaros for once.

 

It was a Very Nice event!

 

I had a good time while I was there. Good to meet some new people and see some old friends.

 

I was shocked by that and I love the manual transmission representation as well! Save the manuals!!
