My attempt at Exhaust
Hey all,
Great Forum. Just inherited my Father's 92 Firebird with 305 TBI, 105k on the odo. I did a lot of reading here and elsewhere and here is my exhaust plan, let me know if anything sounds weird or if its not going to work..

- Hooker Headers 2055-1 (I know these are for a TPI setup, but if I understand correctly they will work on my application. Anyone know different? Does anyone know if it has only 1 o2 bung and is it on the Drivers side??)
- Magnaflow 3" in/out performance Cat
- Borla 3" cat-back exhaust sytem

Welcome to the site. WOW, that is real clean and seems to be all original bird. Your exhaust plan sounds good and should work. You will need the y-pipe for those headers.
Sorry to hear how you inherited the car but you may have a nice "survivor" car there.
Post some more pics. How many miles?

Yes, it's pretty much all original. My father loved this car and it's been garaged its entire life. I think drivers seat belt latch was replaced with a grey one and it has a magnaflow muffler, but that's it.

Welcome aboard Biggyniner. That's a great looking bird.
Only thing missing from your list is the beer. I hate exhaust work.

Re: My attempt at Exhaust
First of all my condolences on your father. Very nice car. I had a Borla once on a Trans Am and it sounded great. Better than any other system I've had on the 5 thirdgens I've owned.

Borla makes high quality stuff. My Solara had a TRD muffler made by borla. After 17 years in NY winters it had zero rust and the polished stainless tip looked like new after a wipe down.

Good to know. I was looking at it closely, it looks like one pipe Y's from before the muffler and becomes the passenger side pipe, without going through it, while the drivers side tip does.. I can't be seeing this right...

Re: My attempt at Exhaust
You are seeing it right. The borla carback has tunable sound you add in these disks and can tune how loud it is without sacrificing power

Re: My attempt at Exhaust
I cannot reccomend that they are 1/3 of the quality and every one I have ever put on a car for someone I have removed a year or two later. Although if you want to save some cash MagnaFlow is good.
