3 years!

Today, 10-21, it has been exactly 3 years since I registered on this site. Back then I had an 89 IROC, which I was building a nice 355 for, and had already swapped in a 6-speed. Sadly...that car has been sold since then. I got a 97TA, and now a pair of TA's...a 99 and 84.
...and I used to be a Camaro-only type guy. lol
So who else is here from the old days?

Back in the day, when there were non-tech boards, and George Kwahawhowhatchmacallit was around with that poor, poor white Iroc 'Vert.... wasn't it an 88?

wow
Give me a quick history lesson here guys. What happened to the site that long ago? It had non-tech boards?

I heard things such as that when I first registered...but it has since died down. It must be myth. haha. Educate me here.

hey fake, i dont think you are actually supposed to correct for 1300 feet. i think it only matters for over like 1600 or 1800 feet. i dont really care all that much, i was just thinking it so i thought id tell you.

07-12-1999 is when I registered with the new bbs software. I was here before...started browsing probably around Feb '98.

Just in case anyone was wondering...I went and checked the member list and it looks like the current BBS software went online at 07-07-1999.

Well the NHRA calls for correction at 1300'. It doesn't matter to me much either, I just figured I'd put it there for people to compare better.
I'm still looking for the 12 second timeslip.

Here you go, it starts at 1200.
http://www.calgarydragracing.ab.ca/t.../altitude.html

go to tech tips then NHRA correction tables.

Once upon a time, when the 1's and 0's were properly aligned with my empty case of Shiner Bock, there were these dinosaurs roaming the intarweb.. these were the "non-tech boards", largely having jack diddly to do with anything. Most developed into all out down and dirty flame-wars between George Kawalaixkaod8we98alfdj a98 r l;kajf0 23r (GK for short) and anyone else on the board. GK was a "graphics" guy.. and preformed a sin to a convertable 3rd gen that is.. unspeakable. You don't want to know, believe me.

At this time, many threads on racing ricers.. "pimpin hoz".. doing drugs.. whatever.. Non-Tech was ALWAYS full of people, and on many occassions caused my Snap-On BS4000x to peg and disentigrate. The BS4000x of course being the primere bull**** meter of the automotive world

In short there used to be what.. 8? more sections w/in www.thirdgen.org. There was even a breakaway to www.3rdgen.org that I believe was funded by/headed by GK.. he was involved somehow. I've been outta the game for a while now, so the details are foggy to my old brain

I drank very much tequila to forget the image of that horrendous vert. I may relapse and drink myself into a coma if I recount the horror.

Damn Rocky, you HAVE been around forever. I didn't even live in America in '97, so any Thirdgen dreams weren't happenin at that point.

What ever happened to Mike? With the 86SC that the Ragin'87 was setup pretty much just like? He just fall off the face of the planet or something?

Last I talked with Mike was over a year ago. He sold the SC and purchased a (new/or slightly used) ford truck. Good looking truck.

I've been here for about 7 months. I found this site shortly after I decided to get a 3rd Gen TA. I got my car a month or so later. I've learned alot about cars in general since that time and a whole lot about third gen cars.
