How about a small Gathering for the swap meet Saturday, Nov. 9?

So who is up for a small get-together Saturday (Nov. 10th)? I was thinking of meeting somewhere for lunch, then going over to the swapmeet afterwards. Anyone know of some restuarants local to the Ballpark area in Arlignton?

swap meet info here...

at this time...NTTGA still isnt sure how many people are going. I know a couple of us will be there atleast....but I don't know if it'll be enough to call it a NTTGA meet. A lot of our folk are going through a bunch of stuff right now....some may or may not be out of town...We're discussing it on the forums though....we'll let you know.

Oh and by the way...there is a car show on Dec. 7th....more info will be posted later today on our site. Should be fun...come check it out.

?'s

Hey, I got a few questions for you experienced swap-meet guys.
1: What are the chances of finding a T-56?! My 700R4 blew up today...makes horrible noises and wont get out of 1st.....its very annoying going at around 25 MPH @ 4000 RPM.....
2: Do people trade stuff, or is it just all out sale?
I have the stock I think 26 spline axles out of my car, and a posi differential to get rid of....I was planning on selling them for a T-56....just not this soon
3: If ya'll think I have a good chance of finding a T-56 for about $500 + axles + differential, would it be possible for someone to swing up to Denton and give me a ride...as mine just blew up , or if I manage to find a ride to somewhere near one of ya'll could I ride w/ you? Would you have room for a tranny?
Oh, one more thing....anyone have experience doing the swap....700R4->T56 that would maybe help me out with that....like in their garage (I have no place to work on it) Anyone want to try it on someone elses car before their own and have a garage? I know I'm asking alot here, I'm stuck though....
Thanks in advance.

Corry

Yup it's Saturday, Nov. 9th, not the 10th. Sorry for the confusion.

1. Chances of finding a T56 are good. Last time I saw 2-3 of them for 400-450 each. I think they were cores though.
2. Most of the time people strictly want to sell, not trade. But I'm sure there's a few who would trade. They wouldn't give much for a posi and axles though.
3. I did the T56 swap in my 89 IROC I used to have. I have access to a shop with a lift and all, but the owner of the shop will charge $$$ for the time spent in there.
I'm sending you a PM now.

Is there anyone on here from the Denton Area, or that would be willing to drive up here? I already got a ride down there, so all I really need is a ride back, possibly with a transmission. Oh yeah, and I'd need a ride from Hooters to the Swapmeet.
Please I'm on me knees here!:hail:

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I will pay gas

See you all the tomarrow!
Unfortunately I'll be in the 99 TA. It's navy blue and has a Ram Air hood. Look for it!

Well looks like I am go....I am also going to try and get a short term loan on my next paycheck just to insure I can afford the trans, and maybe more hardware, hell might find a mounting bracket there lol.
I really dont like the idea that my trans blew up on me, but man am I excited about gettin the t56.....I wasn't planning on the swap until april of next year hehe, now its just too cool! Cant wait till tomorrow! Se ya'll there!
BTW, just in case I look real stupid looking for ya'll, I'm tall like 6'4" long dark hair, usually dress dark, so if you see this big oaf looking stupidly around for everyone, give me a yell! I'll probably be carrying a small cardboard box containing a diff, so that should make me easy to sopt

Good to see you all there! Sorry I was 2 1/2hrs late
I picked up a Mac tool box, and almost have it ready to be re-painted. That thing was all banged up and rusted, etc etc But it's looking a lot better now
I also got some other Snap-on sockets

I think we should start doing these Gatherings EVERY swapmeet from now on.

Jason

Also I am ho rrible with names. I know James' car, and Joel's car. Who had the other 2 cars? It's just hard to put screen names with faces with cars..

Sorry I missed you Jason. We parked behind Red Hot and Blue, and lost the rest of the group. There sure were a lot of people out there. I think we walked about half of the swap meet, but didn't really buy much.

It's cool, I had a tough weekend as well. I was buying a lot of stuff so it was hard to stay with the group.
