Almost everyone here will agree to start with the structrual base of the car. Stuff like subframe connectors and strut tower braces. A lot of the time, people like to get exhuast first, just so they can here it.
I think having a car that stays in one piece is the most important. Get some connectors and have them installed first.
What do you plan on doing with the car in the end? Straight-line drag racing, auto-x racing, fast on the street, or just looking good? Gives us this answer and we can let you know.

1st of welcome to the board and
2nd you need to tell us what u know about ur car besides its a 91 rs im guessing u hopefully have the 305 tbi atleast
go look here https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/ u should find lots of usefull stuff there and if u have the 305 tbi there not much to make that thing fast u should start on everything else like shocks struts bushing.make the ride good and worry about speed later jsut keep the engine tuned up real good (theres a few 305tbi things for speed but its not going to make u be a speed demon) u atleast need a tpi or go ahead and put a carb on it but best thing to do is put in a 350
here a few things i would do
1.k&n filter
2.shocks,struts,bushing,sub frame connectors(theres a few more cant think of them though
3.exuast
3.gears
5.shift kit
the list goes on and on and on it jsut depends on what u looking for and how much money and how far u wanna go
like i said give us more info on what u have and what u looking for i hope that helps

All though I didn't do it myself...and wish I did, I agree that the subframe connectors should be the first thing done to any of these cars. Being that i didn't get them at first, now when I do...I have less choices for which ones I can get unless I re-route my exhaust.
