SES light came on.

Does anyone one know of an Autozone or any place that can pull codes? I got a SES light on my way to work. Turned the car off turned it back on and it went away.
It's to nut numbing cold to sit outside and jack with the car right now and I'm just hoping to find someone that can do it.

Car was running fine. before and after the SES.

You can pull the codes yourself, using the ALDL connector and a paper clip. Refer to your Chilton's or Haynes manual on computer diagnostics.

Even though the light is not on anymore, the code will be stored in the memory so you will pull it.

WEll i think i figured it out. I had reset the tming this weekend( disconnected the brown wire) so i might be getting the code from this. I'm gonna disconnect the battery when i go home and see if it clears it. If not I'll give the paper clip thing a try.

Thanks matt, but got it figured out. Took itover to vernw's and found it to be a code 32/EGR problem. So i'll check the little hoses and stuff that a part of it. See if any of them came loose or what not, if that's not it i guess i'll be replacing the egr valve.

you might also want to check the intake ports under the egr valve. they can carbon-up & cause egr problems. if they are, try running a coat hanger (or other suitable wire) through the ports, then follow with some carb cleaner. she'll smoke for a few after you start'er up, but this will usually get those ports clean.

I was going to say 32 before i even saw your post about it. If all else fails when you have things apart,.... pull the egr off the manifold and run some carb cleaner through it, (probably loaded with carbon) give the diaphram a little movement as well. This always fixed my egr woes. Just an FYI.
