Finally got some good chip tuning done!
Well, I am definately looking forward to going the track at the summer meet!
I finally got together with Mike (1bad91Z) and he did the chip tuning on my car. I went out to his shop in Tomball, and after burning the first chip, his data logging program was acting up. Although he didn't have to, he drove all the way out to my house--Sugarland-- so we could use my scanner to data log. We were tuning until about midnight. He didn't have to do that, and most people wouldn't have gone to all the trouble that he did, as well as the extensive tuning until he was completely satisfied (and I was as well).--so a BIG THANKS DUDE!
The car is definately pulling harder--kinda hard to tell how much. My buttdyno is not as accurate as the real ones, so I guess I'll find out soon! The tuning also got rid of the stumble/hesitation off idle that it always had, as well as the back firing on deacceleration.
Good Job DUDE!

Hey Sonar--where U been? Haven't heard anything out of U or F-bod lately!
Sure would like to see U guys at the Summer Meet, or one of the monthlys that we have set up now!
I guess U and/or F-Bod are not gonna make it over here, so I'm gonna go ahead and mail U your plaque and the dome light U paid me for at the Spring Fling.
You will have to give me yur mailing address again, I've misplaced it since I got it from U last month. PM me.

I was meaning the MOATES cable. Its what I use and it works very well. I am impressed every time I use it. It also converts to USB so it makes it a pretty easy install. No serial adapters for me, all USB.

I have the Mastach cable which works great for SD and MAF. The program I have for MAF was acting up.
I just scanned a SD car yesterday and it worked fine. I need a newer version of the MAF program I use.

I went out to the 1/8 mile strip in Sealy last Sun. Man it was HOT! The first pass was bout 1pm--92*/93* according to the track side thermometer. I ran an 8.68, and even with the Nittos drag DOT's, I was spinning bad of the line. My previous best were 8.56/8.59/8.59, but that was in mid 60's in the cool of the evening. Knowing that that kind of hot temps will slow down a TPI 2 to 3 tenths, I'd say the new chip that Mike (1badZ91Z) did, DEFINATELY pickd it up a couple tenths at least, if not more!
At first I had my doubts about doing a new chip (NOT IN MIKE'S ABILITY!), but in whether or not it would really make any difference, considering I already had a custom chip from Ed Wright in OKLahoma. I was wrong!--BIG TIME!!!
Getting a custom tuned chip from somebody that REALLY knows what they are doing, is the biggest "BANG FOR YOUR BUCK" that has been done to my IROC, and well worth every penny. I highly recommend it for anybody that is wanting to pick up the performance on their car!

Mike - you're using Datamaster to tune? Or is that just for data logging? I'm not aware fo any tuning capabilities of DM, but would love to be educated.....
