How often do yuo want to meet?
With the success of our least meet, many (including me) have been asking when we will have another.
I would like for everyone who was at the last meet, or at least wanted to go to the meet, or even think you might want to go to some meet sometime, to vote on this poll.
Remember, just because you vote for a particular frequency, does not mean that you will be expected at every meet, everyone has other obligations, everyone has mechanical difficulties from time to time. If you think you can attend 1 meet a year, vote for 2. If you think you can attend 2 a year, vote for 4.
I know in '06 there were 2 meets and I missed both of them due to being out of town on business. That is just the way it goes sometimes.

I think this would be a great idea to have a monthly meet, we could have them at a different location each time, like north side, south, east, west, etc... so to be fair to others. Places like Wings places, burger joints, pizza places, or the track.

We have tried that for years. It always goes a month or two and then fizzles out. It would be good if we could stick with it though. We may have enough cars now to sustain a monthly meet.

I have wanted to go to the other meets but the previous plans have been in the way. I am also not very familiar with the area. Believe me, I want to go just have to make sure I am not already tied up. I know some of the Advanced Auto Parts likes to have visitors. I have talked to the store here in Conroe several times. They are always open for cool cars. Places right on 45 are good too. i look forward to seeing what comes of this.

Re: How often do yuo want to meet?
Allright guys, there is a happy meduim here for us to find, there things to look at and find an average ill list examples from my eyes...
1) I guess the addict and show off, i like sporting my RS and killing fols on a regular basis and showing a third gen is a unforgetable platform, i personally make a weekly meet and do some prohibited activities that i enjoy but are not condoned by law enforcement. Long drives suck but 1-2 times a year are not bad for me, the local show/drags draw me in 100% unless it rains.
2) There are those with the schedule that prohibits them or a bad luck streek with mechanical failure. They would love to make 2-4 a year easily in their hearts but time/finances/obligations do not permit. The enthusiests that allways look foreward to being there but are getting older and fading away in the age sometimes might also fall into this class.
3) The ones who draw in serious deep seeded time consuming projects into their years and dont know when a serious project will end, looking foreward to that one time soon meet to let everyone bask into their glory of a well roasted and served up right third gen. The love is there and they might just show up in a different ride just to be there(you know who you are). Theese people have so much love they simply show support just to give appreciation for others work.
I can go further but theese are the general set of people that come to mind, who is what and when they change due to that being life with finances and growth of family. I personally have my first on the way and know it will slow me a bit.
LMK if anyone thinks i am on the right track.

Re: How often do yuo want to meet?
Zane,
I think your classifications are accurate. The next question is...how many of each class do we have?
I like the idea of a weekly meet, but it would have to be at the same place every time or no one will remember where it is. The most logical place would be to pick an already existing meet and agree to meet there. Personally I like Otto's because it is close for me and not within the Houston city limits. I'm sure others will have different suggestions.
We have tried the monthly meet before, moving it around to different parts of town to make it easier for people from that area to attend. Generally it was the same people who showed up every time. Often no one from the designated area would attend. As a result I am not in favor of a rotating meet. Just like with the weekly meet, if we have a monthly, it should always be in the same place so people know where to go.
If we do a quartly meet would could alternate between a track meet and a park meet.
Simi annual or annual meets should probably be in Bear Creek Park. That has always worked best.
Right now the quarterly meet seems to have an early lead...
----------
One more thing about a weekly meet. This would be very informal, just a place that we all agree on as the the designated Saturday hang out. Those who can make it will. Those who can't? Well, they will know where to go when they can. That way last minute decisions are possible, without a lot of planning.
It would also be nice to have a sizable, and rotating, group of third gens at one of the local meets.

Re: How often do yuo want to meet?
Thanks guys. It kina made sence and fell out of my head. I just felt it was something that would help us keep things in line, for a rough break down i thought it was as close as i could get it as "grouping" the third genners.
I would love to hit the track, now that i got a hood too?!?!?! It is on!

Re: How often do yuo want to meet?
Yeah I think we should have 4 meets a year that way if people can't make it to one they have 3 more chances. Plus then we can have a meet during the summer were we can go to the track or something that is better suited for warmer weather.
Plus with 4 meets we would be more likely to have a bigger turn out and more time to plan instead of having so many things going on and no organization because in the past with monthly meets attendance dwindled and things fell apart due to confusion.

4 seems to be a happy medium but lets keep this going and see where it ends.

Re: How often do yuo want to meet?
Since 85%+ of the people who responded said they would prefer 4 or more, it is a pretty safe bet.

Re: How often do yuo want to meet?
OK, polls are closed and the votes are in and it looks to me like we have a pretty definate responce.
>85% say we should meet at least every quarter, while only 40% say we should have a monthly meeting and only 10% want to meet less frequently.
So quarterly it is!
That means out next meeting should be in March so we need to figure out exactly when and were. I'll start another thread for that...
