Re: Texans!!!!!
Well, I didnt want to put a specific BWW, because I wanted to get us to agree on one, to be fair , not just closest to me.

Re: Texans!!!!!
Fair Enough.
This one is pretty centrally located..even if parking isn't great:
Phone: 713-521-1100
2525 Rice Boulevard
Houston, TX 77005-3220
That is where Houston-f-body used to meet every Thursday (for $0.25 wings) back in the day. But I suppose "Central" depends on who is going.

Re: Texans!!!!!
If that is where F-Body use to meet then we should stick to it, I could be there early to see about parking, where we can try to park together, and reserve some seats. If we can get a good response to this meet, then I could call asap and reserve some spots and probably parking.

Re: Texans!!!!!
Hey Blue what are you up to this coming Sat... I'm tired of my car sitting on jack stands... You ever change out valve springs without pulling the heads??? This is the list I have left
1- valve springs
2- valve covers
3- repair electrical
4- replace tranny pan gasket
5- new tranny pan bolts and adjust cable
6- install y pipe
7- install smog and hoses
I think thats it to get her running again. I'm going to pull the intake port and polish it and strip the wheels... I also have some rust that I have to cut out and replace..

Re: Texans!!!!!
With the right valve spring compressor tool, it is a piece of cake.
With a cheesy tool it will be a PITA.
SofaKingdon turned me on to the "right" tool.

I didn't use a compressor or compression gauge either. I put each cylinder at TDC when I was working on it.

Re: Texans!!!!!
how do you prevent the valves from dropping into the cyclinder if you don't use an air compressor? do you just turn the motor til both the valves are closed and then change the springs?

Re: Texans!!!!!
That tool not only lets you push the lever from any direction (360*), but it also locks in place. Like most things, with the right tool, it is easy. That IS the right tool.
