Re: STARTER MESSED UP

the iroc has a bigger motor. needs more torque to start it. thas why its bigger. it should work but than again dont know if it will fit.

Re: STARTER MESSED UP

than i would think it might be a different starter with different number of teeth. try to look up how many teeth your has compared to the others ones by the year. are you sure its the starter.

Re: STARTER MESSED UP

Talked to 92_T5 tanight, told him what is up.

For those that want to know, the T5 starter is smaller than the automatic starter. Now the T5 starter will work with the 700R4 or ANY other automatic, the automatic 700R starter is to big to fit in the bellhousing of the T5.

BUT, alas no worries, a T56 LT1 93-97 starter will work also. Which might even be cheaper.

Re: STARTER MESSED UP

i'd change it out for a high torque mini starter.. they run about 75 bucks but are so much easier to install and require less amps to start the car which saves you money because your bat will last longer... thats all i put on mine... not to mention they weigh less and can clear the y pipe without having to drop it for installation.
