For the first time in the entire (15+ year?) history of the Otto's meet, tonight the cops showed up and started rousting people!

As far as I know, no one was ticketed or arrested.

One guy got a video of the cop (Fort Bend sheriff?) telling the owner of Otto's, on the phone, that people who were not eating had to go. The guy who shot the video said he would post it on ls1tech.

As I understand it the whole thing was a response by the property owner to a shooting that took place on the other side of the shopping center a few weeks ago. The owner of Otto's doesn't seem to be any happier about this than we are.

Well have to wait and see what happens....

 

Yeah,like we are a bunch of thugs. Good people always seem to share the blame for the actions of a few buttheads.

 

What I don't understand is that the police KNOW about Ottos and patrol by there during meets. They're pretty cool and loud cars, limo tinted cars etc. As long as we're not doing burnouts and acting like idiots, they leave us alone.

wow that sucks!! I was going to try to make it there tonight but I ended up going out with a friend of mine to a bar. Hope it isnt canceled for good.

 

Just keep going there and make sure you eat/order something. If the cops roll up, go in and order a drink.

 

I've never been down to this meet at all so i'm not to sure what all is there but sounds to me like the cop is just jealous that he doesn't have a third gen... lol

Talked to******* from ******* PD. One of my customer's. The property owner does'nt want to get sued because if anything happens with any group allowed to meet on his property,he's the one the lawyers go after because he's the one with the most money. Also Otto's could be held liable if something happens with our group,which is unlikely. So,blame the lawyers. And the courts. And the jerks who can't act right.Etc....

We left around 9:30 and the last we heard from the owner of Ottos was that it all should be straight for this coming weekend. But I guess we will see. Sucks though and it helps there business alot..

 

so ERIC, no ottos ?!?!?!? if not why dont u take a trip out to kemah saturday night and u can meet up with me , kevin(kevin89formula) and lance (one92Rs)

 

I suspect Otto's is not dead yet...

In any case, I'm about to take a bunch of stuff apart, so my Camaro won't be going anywhere for a few weeks.

But I've got nothing against Kemah, I've been out there before and would be happy to go again...once I have my car put back together again.

The interior stuff is part of it, along witrh the seat belts and head liner.

I also need to do some fuel system plumbing, wire up a few odds and ends and work on my brakes vacuum system.

I would be happy to have some help...but most of it is a one man job.

 

Bigger fuel system for lets say a boosted build??

 

Well, I did recently install a dual Walbro 255 inline pump setup. I have both pumps run in parallel with a 600 GPH System1 filter on the suction side. I just hooked up a TPS/window switch to activate the second pump. If I turn both on at idle, my return line is to small and I can't keep it down to a reasonable pressure.

I also need to see about some transmission leaks...the pan, speedometer sender and rear seal all leak.

I also have a transmission foaming issue I need to deal with...

I also need to re-plumb by PCV system...

And much, much more...

There is no shortage of things to do!
