Any short (a few months) certification programs?

Im looking for some type of certification/schooling program that only lasts a few months. Something that will give me a good temp job while Im in college. The only place Ive found is Brookhaven Community College's General Repair program...however...i will be going to school in Arlington...and dont want to worry about the long drive (I am going to the art institute of dallas right now...graduate hopefully in May...then go to UTA in August) Perhaps something through the mail or internet? Im actually going to be using the degree I got at AID...will be starting a small multimedia/web design business....but I want that extra cash...and I want to have certification just in case down the line I'll need it.....plus maybe i'll learn something new (even though the course descriptions seem to be stuff I know already). So any ideas? Also...any ideas as to where I can work (just a couple days a week). I was thinking a place like Discount Tires, A small shop or something, a muffler shop....etc. Do I really need a certification for this...or can I just apply? Thanks

First of all - I went to Brookharvard..
The Automotive teachers there are some real ******.
You really don't need any certs to work at Discount Tires, or any other shop like that. They still tried to make me do 'bitch work' even after I finished the 2-year Automotive program there. I worked for speed shops for another year, now I'm a Software engineer, don't ask.
(edit): If you have any more questions, need ideas, or whatever, just e-mail me, or post here.

Thanks 89Roc.....yeah....bitch work sucks...and I really wasnt sure if they required cert. or not...now I know...I'll see what happens...I want to work at Pepboys or something so I can get discounts on all the small stuff for my complete rebuild of my car. And yes...Ralph is awesome....Im working on a redo of that animated gif...something with more quotes (perhaps random....do sigs allow Flash???) and something that doesnt move around a lot. Anyways...thanks for the info, and I'll post again if/when i find a job. (turned in apps at Autozone and Pepboys...will try Discount Tires and a couple of small mechanics/muffler shops)

For Discount Tire, Wal-Mart, etc. just walk in and say "I work on cars. I would like a job."
